Key's president (Visualarts president) said on the audio commentary of Kanon DVD vol. 7

"是非京アニにお願いしたい。これが最後のお願いです"

translation
"I would definitely like KyoAni to do it, and that is my final wish"
this translation is almost ok.
Wow, that's gotta be an honor to Ishihara-san and his crew at KyoAni. That just goes to show how much respect the creators and companies have for their adaptations. ^^

Oh Great and all powerful Unregistered one~!

Why don't you get off your fucking high horse, and start your own project then.

Truth is, you're just some troll that used babelfish for that translation.

So, why don't you save up the lunch money that mommy and daddy give you, and buy some study material. Maybe, just maybe, one day you will be half as good as Velocity.

But I doubt it.

For those of us who like to keep score, babelfish says: (Kyoani replaced since babelfish sucks at names)

是非Kyoaniにお願いしたい。これが最後のお願いです
In English:
We would like us to ask to Kyoani by all means. This asks end.

Bah, I hate trolls... nobody's perfect.

anyway, assuming that the person is talking about the whole company... it would become "We want to leave it to KyoAni and this is our last wish."

No! It can't be their last wish! There are more to come!

Now the vision struck me that Brother Kyo (Kyou Ani) is producing and voice-recording the anime all by himself. Genuine KyouAni anime.

So fascinating. :P

EDIT : It's not sarcasm to someone's translation. Somehow the word "KyoAni" seemed different meaning at that time.

Seriously, though, if your command of a language isn't very good you really shouldn't be translating things, at least not without saying that your translation might not be entirely accurate.

Stating "it means blah blah blah" as if it's a fact when you really have no idea if it's true is just being silly.

It's not a "last wish" in the sense of the last wish someone makes before they die. "saigo" can be used in the same sense that "ultimate" is used in English. "Ultimate" literally means "last" (and "penultimate" means "second to last" and "antepenultimate" means "third to last") but we can say "ultimate wish" to mean something pretty different from "last wish". そんな感じで分かればいい.

I was under the impression "これが最後のお願いです" was a Kanon reference (since it was on the Kanon DVD) ? Some one said in it an earlier post.

I don't particularly see a problem with "last wish". After all, the context around the quote indicates that it was the "last wish" of a creator's career.

Taken out of context, it's a different story.

"最後のお願い"がこんなに物議を醸すとは。
"last wish"ってのは、"死ぬ直前"みたいなニュアンスなんですか?
言葉は難しいですねぇ……

いや、日本語で聞いたって遺言っぽい響きはあるでしょう。文脈次第かと。

By the way, I don't know whether he was aware or not but saying 分かればいい in front of the other person sounds unnecessarily haughty.
