Kazoku Keikaku, worth playing?

So, as the title says, is this game worth it? I'm a bit skeptical of erogamescape and also there's the whole editing thing (sounds like how CMX censored Tenjou Tenge) along with inserting jokes that weren't part of the original game into it (Americanization? I thought we were past this). I've also heard that the story is extremely slow and after experiencing Wind a breath of heart, well...you get the idea.

Jokes were left in accidentally since they were silly crap put in as a joke during the development of the game and were meant to be removed but they forgot. Whoops! They will release a patch for this.

The censorship is not nearly as bad as CMX but the response to it is just a frantic. It's not an issue though.

I really don't get what's so bad about the jokes.

And no one complains about them alternating between using Japanese honorifics, using different ones, or completely adapting the original text so there are no honorifics.

It's like everyone is complaining about the wrong things. Also, the censoring isn't as bad as everyone makes it seem.

So, yeah, the game is worth getting. The story is slow, but I think it's mainly about the comedy, since that's the kind of thing you'll be reading most of the time. It's not "THE BEST BISHOUJO GAME EVER" but it's really good.

Buy it; it's the best commercial game that's come out in a while (which might not be saying much, but hey). I haven't gotten any of the endings yet but assuming it'll get better and not worse, it's definitely worth your time.

Not one of the best ever but as far as VNs that have been licensed here it is very very high on my list of favorites. It has a very enjoyable story dealing a lot with the flaws of the characters while not being a constant assault of downers, not knowing enough japanese to play the original I don't know the extent of the jokes that weren't meant to be left in but it is quite common to change jokes between Japanese and English as they often just wont work in English. As far as the 3 edits to mitsuri they are minor and they saved her story which is more important.

If you judge slow by "more sex less story" this isn't for you though. Finding it hard to be mean to imouto types I have only gotten Mitsuri's path (despite her not being a fav of mine). Knowing what they took out I can say the only sex in that route was right at the beginning of the game with someone else and at the end so its not a which girl will I screw this game day type VN.

I am more of a story type so having liked parts of Wind and finding other parts slow and hard to get through without skipping text I can say I have not felt any of the latter effect yet and am actually not using the "skip previously read text" on my second play though. #3+ may require it for the beginning though.

95% of the cast was completely unlike-able, the exceptions being Tsukasa himself and Hiroshi. The plot wasn't all that good, though it did have its moments. The resolution was either extremely stupid or doesn't resolve much at all, depending on which you take.

That said, I didn't hate it. It was interesting enough to keep me reading, but it never wowed me or made me experience any emotion at all, for that matter. The sad moments never affected me, and the 'intense' moments made me go ''meh''. Everything is pretty much forgettable.

Can somebody explain me why people hyped it so much? Because there's absolutely nothing special about it.

Thanks, I'll save my money for Shuffle!, and considering that got its own anime while this doesn't I'm sure that's the better of the two

Good idea.

Haven't played Kazoku Keikaku, but Shuffle is a pretty shitty game. The story is just plain crap. Oh and just because it got an anime counterpart don't mean SHIT either.

But everyone still just LOVES Shuffle, don't they? People just love to judge a book by its cover.

Except, it is F*SDDSKKKing long. I liked it, it was a worth while read, but nothing horribly special. I'm going to go back to reality before I continue any longer on Family project...
