Relax. You can't do justice to Ever 17 by rushing through it. On the other hand, you'll be happy to know that there's more of Dr. Tanaka in the game (in You's epilogue and in the "true" ending), and there's more to her than you think.
There are a total of 8 endings (4 "good", 3 "bad", and 1 "true") and 3 epilogues. Once you have completed all four "good" endings, the path to the "true" ending will be unlocked for both characters; while Takeshi can obtain Tsugumi's and Sora's endings and Kid can obtain You's and Sara's, either of them can obtain the true ending (I won't explain why since that's part of the fun). I will let you know this in advance: a "good" ending does not necessarily mean a happy one. You might want to keep a box of tissues handy if you cry easily. On the other hand, the "bad" endings are decidedly bad. In Kid's scenario, it's easy to tell if you got a good ending or a bad ending. With Takeshi, it's a lot harder to tell (you'll see why when you get one of them). As for the epilogues, you will automatically see the first epilogue as you complete the last of the "good" endings (and you will get a message stating that the final chapter has been unlocked). The others can be viewed by reloading the endings for Tsugumi/Sora (common epilogue), You, and Sara via the Shortcut menu. I recommend going through all of the epilogues before attempting the true ending so you will "get" the various subtleties in it (part of the impact was lost to me since I didn't see You's epilogue until after getting the true ending). Also, since the game keeps track of what options you have taken, pay special attention to when new options suddenly become available. That's your hint to accessing the true ending. The best part about Ever 17, in my opinion, is learning how the wool was pulled over your eyes throughout much of the story. I guarantee that you have no idea what that means yet since you only acquired You's good ending. I would be doing it justice to compare it to the sudden revelations in The Usual Suspects or The Sixth Sense. As for the ending message, it simply means you're not done yet. When you see the full credit roll (with a vocal ending theme), then, and only then, can you say you have finished Ever 17. Last-minute addon due to your edit: You mean Sara (school uniform), not Sora (Chinese dress). You'll be saying "oh, now I get it" later on. I commend you for noticing the differences thus far. The game expects you to finish Takeshi's side before Kid's, so you now know something you shouldn't just yet. You'll find out why later. Omgwtflolz: THAT'S A MAJOR SPOILER!! Mr. Aufziehvogel, if you have not read it yet, DON'T! At least, not until you've finished Coco's route. |

He asked if he would see more of her. Ur arire nfxrq sbe ure gehr vqragvgl. Even with ROT13 encoding, you shouldn't go answering questions that weren't asked, especially to that degree.

*sigh* Is there something fundamentally wrong with telling someone "you'll find out soon enough"? No offense intended, but you're making it seem as if there is.
He asked a question about a subtlety he noticed before he was supposed to. The game specifically addresses that subtlety at a later point in time. There was no need, or reason, to say anything more than "you'll find out eventually". Parallel example from Metal Gear Solid: Vs fbzrbar nfxf jul Znfgre Zvyyre naq Yvdhvq fbhaq njshyyl fvzvyne jura gurl svefg cynl guebhtu gur tnzr, ner lbh ubarfgyl gryyvat zr vg'f nyevtug gb gryy gurz, "gung'f orpnhfr Zvyyre VF Yvdhvq -- gur erny Zvyyre vf qrnq", orsber gurl svaq gung bhg sbe gurzfryirf? Vg frrzf yvxr lbh ner, tvira lbhe pbzzragf. I apologize if I seem to be making a big deal about nothing, but I dislike having things spoiled for me prematurely. Whenever I ask about certain details, I expect those details to be addressed, and nothing else. Naturally, I would like to see others shown the same courtesy. That's why I objected to your post. And since he was asking his questions in ROT13, he would likely read any answers posted in ROT13, even if they told him more than he wanted to know. |

Seriously. Anyone who doesn't want spoilers shouldn't be asking questions about the story if they haven't finished it yet, because, guess what, said questions probably can't be answered without there being spoilers. |

the simple answer: you'll find out eventually. get all the good endings and everything will become completely clear, i assure you =)
ever17 just loves throwing stuff at you like that, that you would never have expected. don't expect anything in it to be simple and straightforward. "Anyone who doesn't want spoilers shouldn't be asking questions about the story if they haven't finished it yet, because, guess what, said questions probably can't be answered without there being spoilers." Some people just don't understand the magnitude of the questions they're asking. ;) |

Since it doesn't seem as though you read my MGS example, I'll give you a real-life example that everyone can relate to: Suppose a close relative of yours has a big event coming up (birthday, promotion, anniversary, whatever). A mutual friend decides to get a bunch of buddies together and organize a surprise party. However, your relative notices that the mutual friend is acting unusual and asks you about it. He has absolutely no idea about the party. You can either: a) Make up an excuse that will temporarily appease your relative. b) Pretend not to have noticed and suggest it might be his imagination. c) Tell him you're not sure, but you'll look into it for him. d) Tell him about the party. In this case, you chose option d). The mutual friend is the creators of Ever 17, Mr. Aufziehvogel is the relative, and I am one of the very annoyed buddies. Whenever you are asked a question, you should always use discretion and consider whether there are negative consequences to giving a complete answer. Mr. Aufziehvogel, to address your question about Coco and Sara: this detail is mentioned in the manual, under Sara's biography. You'll hate me down the road if I answer your question right now. For now, I'll clam up and say 'you'll thank me later' when you find out for yourself. If you really need a hint: Lbh'ir nyernql abgvprq gung gurer ner n ybg bs qrgnvyf gung qba'g frrz gb yvar hc, yvxr gur cerfrapr / nofrapr bs Pbpb / Fnen naq Lbh'f shyy anzr Gurer ner cyragl bs gurfr gb pbzr. One final warning: there are a number of interviews with the creators at Hirameki's website. DO NOT read them until you have completely finished the game, as they discuss exactly what I addressed in the above ROT13 in-depth, and, trust me, you don't want to know that info yet. |

There are a total of three epilogues: one common epilogue for Tsugumi and Sora, one for You, and one for Sara. When you unlocked the final chapter, you automatically saw the first of the three after the game let you know that the route was unlocked.
When I first played through Ever 17, I didn't bother going back to view the epilogues before playing through the final scenario. I regret that decision, as Kid makes direct reference to You's epilogue (fortunately, I was able to put the pieces together after I saw it).
