Just noticed that buy/sale forum is gone. So are we allowed to post related things anymore?

Anyway, if it's still OK, I was wondering if anyone is interested in selling their muvluv alternative cheap to me before I hit himeya. (I live in australia if anything matters)

Renewal usually just means reissue with support for the latest version of Windows.

Technically, "renewal" versions tend to be second pressings. When the initial pressed lot of a game sells out, some companies will make a subsequent pressing, and can call it a "renewed" version.

In many cases, there's no difference between the initial and subsequent renewals. In some, there's very minor changes, like bug patches already applied, or slightly tweaked CGs/scenes (Muvluv CD->DVD was like this), or the box art is different (School Days was like this if I remember correctly). It tends to be a signal to that not even the staff believe that there's enough changes to warrant even rabid fans to buy a second copy.

Occasionally you'll get vista-compatibility releases, but from what I've seen, they're more clearly labeled as such, in addition to being a 'renewal'.

Oh, as a warning, Muvluv and Alternative currently aren't Vista64 compatible if you happen to run that version <_<, the stupid copy protection thing makes some assumptions about the registry that make it crash -_-. They fixed it for Altered Fable and Kiminozo Latest Edition, but you'll have to have Vista 32bit (maybe) or a VM to run the older things...

Just make sure you don't apply that line of thought to Leaf's "Renewals". Shizuku and Kizuato have newer art amongst many other changes.
