Welcome to the "The honeymoon is over" phase of the project, the mix of tiredness. laziness, and feeling overwhelmed as the sheer weight and scope of what you've started doing finally translates to "so I'm going to be doing this for how many days?" in your head. Success as a VN translator means finding some way of dealing with this yourself. Because of your extended break, you probably feel the drag a bit more strongly than most people early on in a project.

As for myself, looking at the huge scope of the script and updating status would depress me more. So instead I just force myself to make translate at least one line a night every night, Chewing on the script with blinders on in a small effort to avoid panic attacks. If you love your work enough, doing 1 line will usually lead to doing a bunch, so it works out.

LOL ^_^;

The clean bill of health would be nice, considering I've been in and out of the hospital six times in the last year and a half. Now I might have torn something in my knee. *sigh* It never ends.

So That's what That's called....I hit it with Soul Link's Chapter 2...The change from awesome gung-ho male lead of action to craptacular complete and utterly average male lead of standing around while people complain is probably the reason in my case though. <_< sadly they do manage to force plot into the chapter somehow...still, I think it's pretty bad when even the story's main villain is sitting around bored out of their mind...

What a coincidence, I've stated to play this several days ago. You could use ExtractData to extract the script but then all you get are a whole bunch of files that need to be decompiled to be useful so I guess in the end your way is better. Man, what a useless post...

Given the fact that a translation of majipuri's demo, another CVNS game, exists, it's probably just about a solved problem (unless the engine has been significantly changed in that time; it HAS been a few years)

I have the decompiler, I just don't know how I'm supposed to use it. ^^; As such, I've been replaying the game and transferring the stuff AGTH extracts into txt files.

So I did the work you requested and you ignore it just because you "don't know how to use it"? Have you thought about, I don't know, asking?

I'm sorry. I haven't ignored it; I've been trying to figure out how to use it myself. At the same time, I wanted to feel like I was getting something done, so I extracted some text the only way I knew how. But you're right; I should have asked. My stupid pride getting in the way.

Time for an update, and some bad news. Around Christmas, my computer bit the dust due to a spyware infection and nothing could be salvaged (it even blew out my printer and wireless modem!) I'll have to start all over again. But, come hell or high water, I will finish this project.

Just curious, what kind of spyware that can blow printer and wireless modem?

The kind that builds up when your mother forgets to update the anti-virus/spyware protection on your computer for more than two years. Then you get that one last virus that is the straw that brakes the camel's back (in my case, routing a file through my computer from tech support to my aunt that was supposed to FIX her broken anti-virus software. Not. It wiped her computer clean, but she managed to salvage it.)
