Post onscripter-ansi-20081026-insani-win32 -> about encoding and latin characters

There is here a 'version' of onscripter-en that support cyrillic ANSI....

This ansi support modified onscripter-en only works for russian ANSI Cyrillic (windows-1251), as for the site is in Russian... I was wondering if there is a way to make this onscripter show characters like "é á ç à" and such... I don't know if the russian ANSI have or not such character and even don't know how to save at such encoding.... my notePad only saves at unicode, utf-8 and ANSI ( I'm assuming it's not the russian one because the characters in the script are not the ones displayed at the game ).

So, does anyone knows if it is possible to make onscripter shows characters like: "é á à ó ç " ?

Well, as I wrote at the homepage, this is a simple hack for the engine, which was created for (dropped) Umineko no Naku koro Ni translation. It takes the Cyrillic Russian range from the Unicode table (see comments in the patched sources). It IS possible to make it display those characters, but you'll have to change the ranges of the converted characters and recompile the binary. On another note, it is not recommended to use those, since technically they're based on the outdated engine builds.

IMHO it's better to wait for stable Proportional ONScripter release by Mion of Sonozaki Futago-tachi, which support UTF-8 encoded scripts natively.

Darkshades, I released Higurashi in French (like, on sale in stores) and it's using a custom made Ponscripter build.

I'm not sure the engine is compatible with many games, but I can vouch it can display many kinds of crazy shenanigans.
