Story:

The near future, where a device popularly called the PokeCom, packaged with PhoneDroid OS, spreads, bringing the Augmented Reality world close to existence.
Chuuoutanegashima High School's Robot Research Club is in danger of losing its club status.
Yashio Kaito, one of only two members, is only obsessed with robot fighting games, showing no interest in the Robo Club even in this situation.
The reckless, useless club head, Senomiya Akiho, aims to complete a giant robot, struggling hard to avoid losing the club's status.
Then, one day, Kaito discovers the A.R. annotation that becomes the Kimishima Report.
Written in that report is the indictment of someone named Kimishima Kou's conspiracy involving the world.

Characters

Yashio Kaito CV: Kimura Ryouhei
The protagonist, Chuuoutanegashima High School 3rd Year, member of the Robot Research Club.
He's a fighting game ota who does nothing but play the robot fighting game "Mobile Battler Varell Kill Ballad ONLINE" or "Kill Ball" for short.
He's currently ranked 5th nationally.

Senomiya Akiho CV: Nanjou Yoshino
The Robot Research Club head, Kaito's childhood friend.
A reckless type who gets easily carried away.

Hitaka Subaru CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa
A cool, headstrong Chuuoutanegashima High School 2nd Year.
Since he's overconfident in his detailed knowledge in robotics, he looks down even on his seniors.
He has a lot of fangirls, but he's not used to girls due to his calamitous stoic character.

Koushiro Frau CV: Nazuka Kaori
A pessimistic hikikomori otaku with a bad mouth and attitude.
She frequently uses obsolete net slang not only online, but in real life as well.
The sole programmer of the "Kill Ball" program with more than 20,000,000 users.

Daitoku Junna CV: Tokui Sora
A Chuuoutanegashima High School 3rd Year karate girl who likes small animals.
She's timid and easily cries, but she's singlehandedly responsible for her family's care.
She's a hard worker, but because of her behavioral problems, she's no good at karate.

Airi CV: Kugimiya Rie
A tidy, fickle, and graceful girl.
Polite with honorific speech, innocent, and reserved.
She becomes expressionless as if going through a sudden character change.
She seems deeply related to the Kimishima Report.

System

New System "PokeCom Trigger"
At any time, you can bring out the screen of the protagonist's 7 inch touchpad device called the PokeCom.
Through the PokeCom's AR, you can put MayQueen cat ears onto characters or discover data hidden on the island.
You can post entries onto the short sentence site, "Twipo" using the PokeCom.
The contents of the post cause the story to diverge.

Not sure what to make of this. The title appears to be "Hatoful Boyfriend," and there's one picture of a human character near the bottom of http://clione.halfmoon.jp/hatoful-boyfriend/system.html . I'm morbidly curious as to what sort of story this is. Has "The Poor Little Bird" (from the VN translated around 2005) gotten a harem? ^_^

BD if far better then DVD for making anime-play discs. The DVD was/is very limited, with BD you can have the same experience that you have on the PC (including saving), the text won't be timed but will move when you click a button. And unlike the console (PS3) games, the BD won't need to be vetted by Sony! I was in support of such a move, and I still am. I know that BD movies can be ripped and burnt to a DVD, but I am not sure about the extra contents, anyone know if piracy will still be a problem?

although, I do hope that they will make the discs regional free, as I live in region 'B'.

in other news, PlayStation Official Magazine UK, Sep 2011 issue, have made a very small (read, bottom left corner of the page) review of Agarest: Generations of War Zero. The reviewer complained about the graphics and game play, but the biggest problem was.... too much text! final score 3/10.

I don't think you can really call it a remake if they just blew it up to HD and messed with the system. It's still worthwhile to rerelease it in any form, though, given how rare the original is nowadays.
