Question about Tomoyo After prices...

I bought a copy of Tomoyo After (the adult version for PC, first edition) through a Japanese shopping service a couple of years ago, but I'm just not into visual novels anymore (or indeed manga or anime, really...). I've sold my other VN's and given away my comics, figurines and whatnot to friends, but since I paid a lot of money for this, I'm reluctant to just give it away. From what I can remember it was pretty hard to get a copy of this version of Tomoyo After years ago, is this still the case? I had a look on Yahoo!Japan Auctions but there are none listed, if I sell this in future, what is a reasonable price for something that's brand-new, never played but has been opened? Thanks very much!

It's not rare or anything, if that's what you're wondering. It was a poorly received game, and that's probably why you don't see it up for sale and around much anymore.

If you have the complete set with the LE and some pre-order goods, you can probably expect around 50% of its former price for it.

For a Key game? Yes.

The translator group got changed for this. I hope they don't let it die. I was interested in the RPG aspect of the game. Can anyone offer a trip report?

EGS scores mean absolutely nothing. Da Capo games get around 40-50 all the time, yet Circus still sell a truckload of them.

Well, if the numbers I found are correct, Circus is the #5 or #6 all-time erogame company in sales. Each of their major releases (DC, DC2, Kujira, etc) gets about 40K-50K sales, while even the crappy spinoffs (DCPK, DC Summer Vacation, etc) get 10K-20K.
And this does not include All-Ages version sales.

So... yeah. Bad ranked games that they still sell a bunch of.

The problem with the EGS scores for Key games is that many people deliberately vote zeros or other really low scores just to troll/bring down the average/"be a rebel" (read the comments, and you'll see). If you take, say, a 10% trimmed mean, you find the scores tend to go up noticably.

Tomoyo after is the the first game I read in Japanese (started learning Japanese because of this), so it kinda have a place inside me (I played through it 3 times!). Dungeons & Takafumis is more like a mini game unlocked after one playthrough where you try to beat monsters on each floor then go higher and higher until you reach the peak.

It's quite fun and strategic, especially when you try to complete all the stages with the minimum amount of time possible. (Going without healing for every 5 stages and not staying in floors repeatedly for eq and lvl)
