I need some way to make translation notes... dialogue like this doesn't just explain itself.

Depending on the engine, you might be able to code in some translation notes by yourself, unless it's like YuukiNovel or something hehe. What I've been doing so far temporarily is put stuff in parentheses afterwards, but I have the entire screen (it's visual novel format) instead of a dialogue box.

"Flood of Tears" is NScripter, so it should be possible. (I have a semi-working routine, but it glitches when the player is fast-forwarding, so I shan't post it quite yet.)

Simple textual note routine a la my Kanon patch:
Code:
*note_loop
lsp 40,":s#FFFFFF?",610,15
repaint

`Text goes here.\

getmousepos %50, %51
notif %50>=600 & %51<=40 goto *note_end
isskip %50
if %50!=0 goto *note_end
csp 40
repaint

`Note goes here.\

goto *note_loop
*note_end
csp 40
repaint
May need tweaking if those sprites or variables are being used, and obviously the labels will need to be made unique if you're using it more than once, and the positions will need adjusting if you're hacking an 800x600 game.

Also, you'll need to modify your ONScripter slightly so that the isskip function will return non-zero if Ctrl is being pressed, otherwise you get annoying behaviour if skipping with Ctrl when the mouse is in the top right. It's a trivial change. Or I can provide builds if you prefer and/or insani don't add that to their branch.

Of course, if you can find a way to localise the reference, that's always even better. ^_^

Current status: 600/7000 = 8%

Supposing we were to put gp32 in a rocket and send him into orbit around Earth at 99.9999% light speed...

My sympathies.
At the speed it was going, the project I picked at first might just have been done in time for al|together 2006.
At any rate, there's still time to pick something less insane =P

I'm getting pretty disillusioned with the novel I'm doing, anyway. It's silly, but it isn't quite a labour of love. (current count: 4 miswritten kanji in the first 600 lines)

However, I have no idea what I could use in its stead at this point.
edit: gp32 has provided me with a little expansion which I'm going to go forth and translate this weekend.

My project Would be going great and be on track for an on-time release, if Misu hadn't dissapeared for the past 3 days along with the 1st pass edited script ;;-_-

A clarification: when I say October 11, I mean that your entries need to be in by October 11, 12:00AM EST. Please adjust your release timetables accordingly.

Do you mean 2005-10-11 05:00 UTC, 2005-10-11 03:00 UTC, or 2005-10-10 14:00 UTC? :P

(Just being silly. It's clear enough you're referring to North American EST rather than Brazillian EST or Australian EST.)

Anyway, I hope to have mine to you in time for any of the possible deadlines... sorry the "this week" thing didn't work out, though!
