Tools won't work with xp3? Uh.. you mean, insani's xp3 tools? They're pretty damn old, don't work very well with big files, don't work with newer xp3s (like in this title), don't work with the per-file encryption (like in 11eyes, himawari) that you really probably want to write your own by now (unless ed goes and updates them).

Lucky I think extractdata is smart enough for these. It's not smart enough for per-file crypted ones (but you can crack that bullshit yourself easily enough with music).

EDIT: ExtractData handles gstr's .xp3s just fine.

I'll at least _start_ doing it. It's freaking long, and my Japanese is utter crap, but I might as well try.

I mean, best case scenario is that I start doing a QUALITY translation, and then someone who can actually translate sees what a QUALITY translation it is and starts doing it themselves in disgust.

I'll just do one route through the game, though - probably choosing the options that get Haru LPs and ignoring everyone else (but getting one Tsubaki LP to avoid getting that bad end). The other routes are so unimportant I think chopping 1/3 off the script would be worth it. =p

Well, basically all of the reading I do in Japanese is visual novels and... novels (as opposed to, say, anime and manga). The way I read is probably akin to skimming at times - I spend more time on interesting sections.

Anyway, I don't need to convince you that my Japanese is complete rubbish -- my translation will prove that for me. =p

Which track? Of the music?

I like the insert song, bgm_111. When it started playing in the epilogue, it just destroyed me. Afterwards, I liked the various remixes of 'answer' (21, 21b, 21c, 21d etc.) I also thought Ride of the Valkyries (bgm_106) was a pretty swell remix. Also, whatever that tune is (bgm_101), because of how it was used.

Not a classical buff, just a cheat. It's the third movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 23 in F Minor, opus 57. Apparently. I'm still trying to hunt out a copy of the original to confirm this (that and if the arrange is this awesome, I have to hear the original.)
