Simplified...a lot of things are simplified if you know where to look, although most of them tend to be fan-translations stuff. Refer to my post on the first page for the link (post #14)

I was wondering if you know of any Chinese translation patches for the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series? I know there are a couple of English patches out there, and they've done a great job with them, but I'm a little impatient and want to try out the other arcs in the series. If you've come across any groups translating the series, please point me towards them. =)

I don't know anything about the game, but it seems a few parts of the story have been fully translated though.
Anyway, here's the site with the patch (you're going to have to test it yourself): http://ukatos.myweb.hinet.net/

Just the translated text (in case the patches don't work): http://1st.geocities.jp/higurasi_int...late/index.htm

Where I found the info (plus screenshots)(don't bother with the download links. they don't work): http://wgzhk.com/discuz/redirect.php...&goto=lastpost

Hope that helps

Great, thanks! Looking at To Heart 2 right now.

Eh, I'm wondering if the Rental Magica novels have been translated into Chinese as of yet, and how to get them. Not sure if its the right place to ask, but hell.

Oh yeah, and is the visualnews site due to go back up anytime soon? :P Kinda miss it.

I'll look into it for you. There's a pretty decent chance the novels are translated, although this would be the first time I've looked into that genre of things, so I'm not guaranteeing any results

EDIT: Hooray for Chinese wikipedia! Anyway, volumes 1 through 4 have been translated, and I guess you could get them at YesAsia http://us.yesasia.com/b5/PrdDept.asp...id-1010685653/

Heh, Chinese translating is kinda tough when the (arguably) better option is to just translate directly from Japanese. Although I've always been kinda interested in starting a manga translation group (games are way beyond my level and there's already enough fansubbers for anime as it is), I never really had the resource or initiative to do anything about it. Anyway, if you want to do Chinese manga translation, I might recommend http://mangaviewer.jconserv.net/index.php, although it's been like two years since I've left that place and don't know if they're still working on translations anymore <_< (the site's down or something, so I'm going to see what happens)

Speaking of which, are there any original Chinese games that would be interesting to localise into English?

It's been replaced by encubed (http://novelnews.net/). Same staff, sans Misu.

Original Chinese games...uh...I don't know too many. The only ones that I think are fairly popular 幻想三國誌4 (Fantasia Sango 4) and 仙剑奇侠传4 (don't ask for the English title). There's also 三國群英傳7 (the latest one). 三國群英傳 is a strategy game taking place in the Three Kingdoms era (I'm pretty sure), and possibly the same with 幻想三國誌4 (except it's a RPG). Not sure what the story backdrop is for 仙剑奇侠传4, but the gameplay style is probably similar to 幻想三國誌4. Just going off of the top listings for PC game at www.gamer.com.tw ^_^; (plus I've seen them pop up several times in forums).

You weren't expecting visual novels, were you?

I'd love to see games of the Xuanyuan Jian and Xianjian Qixia Zhuan series get translated.

Thanks a lot! I'll try out the patches later. If anyone is interested I know there is already a complete patch for Umineko no naku koro ni 1 in Chinese and the second one will be ready in May.

My copy of MO5 (deluxe version) just got shipped out from Yesasia today. I was thinking of getting the normal DVD version but the shipping costs something like $11 so I got the deluxe version instead with free shipping.

But right now I am playing Kanon (started about 2 weeks ago, only got Nayuki and Makoto endings so far) and I want to finish it off first before starting on anything else. Also I changed the alarm signal on my cellphone to this mp3 file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BSZSOSKD :P:P:P (I'm now using it to wake me up every morning...although I have already finished school/university).
