You forgot No.4:

4) Heklin has already been in touch with Gamepatch a month or two ago! (which was stated on their site)

So everything could have been arranged at that time, but I have a funny feeling that there is no trust within the group, although I could be wrong! (speculating is nasty business take stockbrokers for example).

The issue is one of commitment.

heklin was closely involved with the Wind incident (i.e. part of the inner circle that devised NNL's test since he intended to protect his project with a similar scheme), so much goodwill was eroded in terms of the relationship with "fans".

That he's been mostly away since mid/late 2006 should come as little surprise. If he doesn't particularly care about finishing (since the future recipients are a bunch of bastards anyway), he won't put in any special effort to make it work out.

so is there any chance he'll come back? did he die or something

and if he doesnt come back for awhile will they start anew or what. :X

On the site they said that they would be meeting at anime expo and that the first game should be released in late July mid August. They said they heard from Heklin a few months ago and that they planned to meet.

I posted on their forums about their AX meetup a while ago. I was looking forward to seeing them there, but since their forums went down, I didn't know what was going on. Seems like the group is in all kinds of craziness at random times. First their old site goes down, then they get a new site and it seems like there is hope that they really are back in action, but then now more of this. It really shows the instability of visual novel localization projects sadly. T_T

Yeah, it would've helped if I spelled "gamepatch" right in that link.
Fixed it.
