The World Sucks... AIR TV/Movie Acquired by.....
Unfortunately... ADV.....
(Noooo Funimation! How could you not get it!)

In other news... that means someone paid Key... which is a miracle in itself!

What's wrong with ADV? They're a bit slow on releases, but their video quality is still much better than Funimation's (Funimation is awesome in most ways, but they've done nothing to address their compression issues).

Considering how poorly Pony Canyon's AIR DVDs were encoded, we might just have a shot at a better looking R1 release.

Yeah, I dislike ADV DVDs and the ADV company in general after having dealt with them numerous times as press, but alas, I agree with most that any license is better then none ^^;;.

So cheers to ADV and lets hope for a good release!

O.O!!!!! Su... su.. su....

SUGOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

ADV GOT THE LICENSE FOR AIR!!! OH MY GOD!!! I'VE BEEN AN ADV FAN FOR YEARS!! I've been speculating that ADV may have their sights turned towards Key with a huge amount of visual novel based anime! OMG OMG!

I can already start thinking up my dream cast ^^ And always remember this: ADV is made up entirely of fanboys as one person said before XD. They will treat it with the utmost respect it deserves.

Why would you want to isolate the demographic that AIR could potentially appeal to by selling only the upconverted version?

And I feel ADV's video quality is much worse than the other companies, but a license is a license.

See, there's a difference between anime produced by fanboys and anime produced by quality licensors like Geneon, which is that the fanboys will fill up the disc with stupid animations and people going "SQUEEE".

And let's hope its not the next Karau: Phantom Memory... how long did that sit on ADV's lap with nothing happening to it. And when it finally did release... there wasn't really anything special added to it to warrant all the wait time.

A monthly release schedule is actually planned (according to one AnimeOnDVD's staffer, anyway), beginning in August. Whether ADV sticks with the plan is up in the air, but it sounds as if they intend to release this all at once.

Also, Yotsuba&!, which was the #1 best-selling manga in the USA despite the lengths ADV went to get it killed. First they skimped on translation and editing, then they printed volume 3 with sub-scanslation art quality, and finally they just gave up for two years. Now that's Musashi quality!

Err I hope the DVD's come with special memorabilia or something...

Anyway I'm kind of interested how everyone has a different opinion on licensors. Personally I don't like the way ADV seems to americanize everything...

Does that mean a possible release of the AIR VN? I mean, come on, these games had to have been popular enought to make an anime, and I know for a fact that they (specifically AIR and Kanon) are popular over here.

COME ON, PEOPLE. GIMME MY GAMES. >:/
