Wait a second, is this for real? One of my favorite game of all time is up for sale in english! Since when was this translated? I'm also glad that mangagamer decided to get rid of that horrid ninja mascot. Is anyone else excited?

I think it's a new release after their new site came up. I don't know if I would say excited. I've never heard of the thing :P. It does look quite interesting though.

The first one was voted 1st in a major MAD event SM@DxSM@D, the second and the third movie are both created by well known MAD makers. I guess that reflects the popularity of this game to some degree, no?

And now for some actual discussion of the game.

I just finished playing the first route of this (Kirari Normal).

I must say that I am very impressed; out of all of the eroge which have been commercially localized, Kira Kira is certainly the most well-written, at least in my eyes.

At this point, I have no idea what to expect from the other three routes, but I'm certain that they will be enjoyable nonetheless.

MangaGamer has also done a fairly good job with the script, though it is still rather rough in many (random) spots. I'd go as far as to say that it's better than Hirameki's old localizations, but perhaps I simply prefer MangaGamer's translation style.

50 USD is a very reasonable price for this game, and I encourage people to support the localization of it. MG still isn't perfect, but they've definitely shown a commitment to improvement, and I respect that.

It's a tad annoying that there's no BGM mode in-game, though... I prefer the BGM to the vocal pieces, really. Though I was pleasantly surprised when YURIA started singing in the ED...

Moogy, Fortunately, you can extract music from Kira☆Kira with CRASS, ExtractData or AnimED. :)

It's the Japanese term for AMV (anime music videos)

Not sure if it's just the after effects of Kirari's normal route, but I thought all the other routes were just average compared to that, even Kirari's true route. I thought they were kind of short in comparison to Kirari's normal route. They're still enjoyable though.
