Default Planetarian BGM is Indonesian Song

"kulihat ibu pertiwi", old indonesian song.. a good song, and when VisualArts/Key use it on Planetarian, its just, Wonderfull.

the BGM when you start the planetarian, and when reverie die, is "kulihat ibu pertiwi",
the scene is just like the lyrics "air matanya berlinang, mas intan yang kau kenang".

"air mata = tears"

kenang=memory : reverie's memory

"kini ibu sedang ..... merintih dan berdoa"
berdoa=pray

reverie's prayer..

i read planetarian with remenbering the lyrics, its really woderfull

here is the lyrics

kulihat ibu pertiwi
sedang bersusah hati
air matanya berlinang
mas intan yang kau kenang

hutan gunung sawah lautan
simpanan kekayaan
kini ibu sedang lara
merintih dan berdoa

kulihat ibu pertiwi
kami datang berbakti
lihatlah putra-putrimu
menggembirakan ibu

ibu kami tetap cinta
putramu yang setia
menjaga harta pusaka
untuk nusa dan bangsa

Uh...isn't this a famous melody by Charles Crozat Converse? I think it has been used in a number of religious hymns.

Hah... this is also correct! And it's called "星の世界" in Japanese.

I thought I recognized that song when I first read the story! We use to sing "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" back in church all the time!

Such a beautiful BGM for such a tragic moment. ;_;

I suppose you learn something new everyday. Well, at least for my incompetent mind. Heh heh.

and woow! so "kulihat ibu pertiwi" or "星の世界" or "any other title" is the same eh?

can someone post the lyrics? i want to collect them all :)

btw, i heard "kulihat ibu pertiwi" when i still at kindergarten or maybe elementary school 1st year..
and my parents also know that song before i born,
and "Joseph M. Scriven(1819-1886)の What a friend we
have in Jesus (1855)" wow,really old, but beautiful song.

Erie, written in 1868 by an American lawyer Charles Crozat Converse.

In other words, the Indonesians ripped off an old American song. The Indonesians committed plagiarism. Booooo.

The game gives proper credit, identifying Charles Crozat Converse as the composer in the BGM menu; it can't really be described as plagiarism when the source is acknowledged. ^^

And in the case of Indonesia, if adapting someone else's song as a traditional theme is plagarism, I guess The Star-Spangled Banner is plain old copyright infringement.

Not that many countries are innocent of that. "My country 'tis of thee, sweet stolen British national anthem" indeed. :P
