Default Galaxy Angel PC game in English

SpaceDrake posted the latest update concerning the translation of this game on AnimeSuki:
Apparently they would like to know how many people are looking forward to the game.

So, go ahead and show them your support!

In correcting the post to make it pass through the filters, I forgot to put the link to the AnimeSuki thread back in. Here it is:

Already marked my support.

Waited over a year for this to come out, another year is nothing.

Well, at least they started talking about it again. Last time I asked them, they simply didn't know. Maybe they went back and talked to the game localization company. Well, I guess that's one less question I'll be asking at AX, then.

What I find odd is that they didn't try to secure a translation team *beforehand*. Did the original team bail on them or were they just really misguided into thinking they can just find someone to do the translation afterwards?

From what I heard, back last year when they first announced it oh so subtly, they also mentioned that the company whom is working on the game is looking for someone to help them translate.

IIRC, the company even asked the fansub community to help out on an "unspecified project".

Yeah, I remember about the subtle announcement (I forget if I was the one asking the question...), and I remember fansub groups being contacted about the work, but I have no concrete proof of whether it was actually Galaxy Angel. What I remember was that they contacted a certain well-known group, and when said well-known group responded with the actual prices they would want to do a translation commercially, they never got a response back. I hope the company isn't banking on being able to find free labor...

That'd be expecting a lot.

Though admittedly, if I understand Japanese better, and have the free time to work on it (as in not a job but a hobby), I'd gladly do it for free.

All for the joy of seeing GA in English :D

It's a trilogy, so translating just one would be silly, and so is wasting effort translating all three when it'd be better spent on better games.

And if the translation is really cheap... honestly, I'd rather see no translation than a shitty translation, because shitty translations always result in dumbassery from so-called fans (remember when Wild ARMs 3rd actually got a half-decent translation?).

Don't get me wrong, though, I love the games, I just don't think they're that good.

For better or for worse, they're Sakura Taisen in space with shallower characters and prettier battles.

When you're an English bishoujo gamer, you have to accept that you don't have a choice. Stop yearning for the elusive top titles, or you'll never be happy. Take what you can get, don't be picky (no, I'm not telling you to buy the sex-fests).

It's perfectly possible to remain objective about something you like, genius.

And the fact remains that if they're going to translate something, it'd be a much better idea to translate something better.

I would love to see it translated. I highly enjoy GA alot. I own the first one and I'm planning on getting the rest they are really fun to play.

Um the USA gamers people have some of the rights of GA . So really they would only do titles that already have a fanbase. If they tried somthing else they might not get the same reaction.

Well, I am a Galaxy Angel fanbrat, so I would love to see even one game translated.

I admit there are faults with the gameplay such as crappy AI for the enemy, and a lack of technical improvement over the span of the three games(such as the game design is basically the same)

But I still love it.

Even if the GA games are sub-par, I'm a big fan and would love to play it in English anyways.

President Kaname has a dream of bringing more of these otaku games to the US (he has lots of friends in the moé business). He’d take a poll if he could.
Bodes well, if Galaxy Angel will sell.
