Release: The Space Between Trial Edition

Our translation of the Trial Edition of the 2005 Kinetic Novel by Amedeo, カレと彼の間で ～ホワイトラビリンス～, is now COMPLETE.

1. The lead translator on this project was Irene Ying, an intern translator at insani.
2. This piece was written by women, for women. That said, it has very wide appeal, and is one of my favorite Kinetic Novels. What should also be noted is that right after the end of the Trial Edition is where things start getting very interesting indeed -- i.e. people start dying, and ...
3. This is a Kinetic Novel that has a veritable profusion of decision points -- and there are several other Kinetic Novels like it. This rather invalidates some peoples' notions that "Kinetic Novels" are short visual novels without choices.

As this is a commercial game, it goes without saying that we have no intention of ever releasing a full translation. Kinetic Novels are unfortunately very easily pirated, as planetarian proved ...

This will also be the first translation for which we will publicly release a Debrief. In our production process, this is a round-table discussion (or a document) that is generated shortly after RTM (but until now, never revealed to the public) to assess what the goals of the production were, whether we met them, how we performed in each individual section of our tasks, particularly interesting conundrums or stumbling blocks, and our plans to improve on our production process for the future. Look for that on our Production Journal in the weeks to come.
