More that it's silly to keep on distributing a 2-year-old patch for an old version of a game; it'll encourage people to either pirate the old version or to buy it second-hand, neither of which particularly benefits Key. So, on the principle that my activities should be designed to do most good and least harm to Key, it makes sense to restrict distribution until I'm in a position to distribute patches for both the old version and the one that's actually on sale at present.
