Ohayoo minna-san!
I am just posting to inform y'all who are attending Tsubasacon (This weekend in Huntington, WV) that my intro panel is gonna be at 4-5 PM on Saturday. ^^ The entire presentation is done in RealLive, the same engine Kanon and AIR (Standard Editions) runs on, which everyone should get a kick out of XD With time left at the end to try out various translated works (insani demos mainly as well as a few from al|together.) and doujin games like Eternal Fighter Zero and Melty Blood. If anyone wants to find me at the con, just look for a guy who is dressed up as Yukito from AIR on Saturday ;) Hope y'all are able to come :D Ja, ne -Rai |

Five people came to it... three of them being my friends who came down with me and the other two came in at the end (a boyfriend and girlfriend couple) because the guy loves Comic Party. -_-;
And... just the work I put into the presentation! (It was officially complete at around 11:30 AM Saturday morning! x.x) I did feel good when my friends said that my presentation was one of the better ones they saw at the con (and the most prepared.) A few suggestions was 1) Do it again at a larger con like Ohayocon or Tekkoshocon. The crowd at Tsubasacon just wasn't the right crowd with most of the people being more into Naruto and Bleach. (WE DID SEE A NANOHA COSPLAYER!! A girl came dressed up as Nanoha Takamachi from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha :D! She looked awesome! All she was missing was Raging Heart (which she said she forgot in her hotel room) and it would have been perfect! ^^) 2) Rename the title of the panel. To tell you the truth, when I thought it up (and my own imagination running wild) I never dreamed it was gonna get accepted! ^^; So when Mike PM'd me saying it had been, I was excited because it was gonna be my first panel... but also quite surprised o.o; But you know, I learned alot more about the genre that I have an even greater appreciation for it now ;D 3) It could've fallen into a schedule conflict. I was competing with a game show on cosplay next door I think... But out of it, I was able to get one person interested. Even though I didn't get the tunrout I expected, my goal was accomplished ^^. One of my friends who was the "I only like everything Shounen most of the time!" is now starting to look at more series like Kanon, Yoake Mae Yori Ruri-iro na, AIR, Tsukihime (which he had only had slight interest in before because it was about vampires), etc. in a different light and is even starting to read Tsukihime right now :D If I were to do this again, I would change a few things in it (like be able to elaborate on a few more things since it was alot shorter than I thought O.O) and not to mention, be more able to describe the experience of reading a visual novel (in English. Sure I read planetarian but it was a Kinetic Novel and you didn't have choices to affect the storyline.) since I am reading Tsukihime right now... and... just wow. (BTW: I am reading it with the normal patch and not the non-ero patch, just out of curiousity and it actually proves my point in the presentation; They have evolved to the point where the ero is not needed anymore to support the story. ^^) If I can find a place to host my presenation (since it's pretty straight forward to begin with... although I think I can tweak it abit more, like an acknowledgement page ate the end of it...) I would be more than glad to show it to you all. (Since most everybody here most likely has a game that runs on RealLive, I don't need to break the law and put the executable with it ^^) Gomen for the long post minna! But I've gotta get going. Analytical Chemistry awaits me! Ja, ne -Rai |
