I took the time to go over NekoNeko's website once more, and a fairly big question came up - are the reprints of Mizuiro and Gin'iro ONLY through mailorder with NekoNeko, or will they see normal retail distribution as well?

A good point - the site itself doesn't specify, but most blogs have opined that it's probably official mail order only. On the plus side, if you do somehow manage to buy a copy from them, you get a nice telephone card as a bonus.

Incidentally, it's interesting to note that one of the reasons they cite for the republishing is "financial circumstances". Looks like those rumours were based in fact after all... (;´Д`)

Nekoneko has posted the first promotional pictures for their next game, imaginatively entitled Scarlett.
Details are still thin on the ground, but Kataoka Tomo-sensei promises a work of 'considerably different disposition' to previous titles with a focus on entertainment and a good tempo - those must be the latest industry buzzwords, because that's pretty much what Maeda Jun said about Little Busters.

Further, given the explicitly English title and stereotypical 'blonde-haired blue-eyed gaijin' heroine with the all-American soft-drink and Dukes of Hazzard fashion sense, it seems a fair bet that this one might contain some Western elements (in the geographical rather than cowboy sense). If so, one can only hope that their English has improved since Giniro...

Maybe somebody could just go ask them? It worked for mini as well.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks as though NekoNeko has closed mail orders for Gin'Iro and Mizuiro...

Seems like it. Must have missed the gap between that post and the recent date. Considering they first collected orders and the money 10 days before sending the games and having no real 'stock' this really seems like money making.

I don't know.
I rather feel that NNS isn't really interested in "Gin'iro" and "Mizuiro" anymore (promoting their newer stuff would be a better commercial move) and mostly re-released them because of the fans' demand. Because of that, they probably didn't want to go through the bother of distributing the games to stores, manage stocks, etc.

Oh man... it's a good thing they had subtitles. I couldn't even figure out what they were singing in the first few lines WITH subtitles, because it sounded like they're doing some other European language rendition of it XD;

It would be hilarious if the entire game had a Spanish option...

I'm chuffed to note that part of the story will apparently be set in Canberra, of all places - because as everyone knows, if there's one thing the city of bureaucrats is famous for, it's thrilling military espionage action!

So it's in South Africa, Australia, but not New Zealand?

Of course not. Everyone knows that the only things that happen in New Zealand are sheep farming and thrilling, high-budget epic struggles between good and evil (based on novels by Oxford professors).

Personally, I think the absence of London from the list is more shocking. How can you have an international thriller without MI5?
