I just heard there's some anime called something like Madoka Madoka (?) written by Urobachi Gen, the writer for Nitroplus who wrote Saya no Uta and Phantom of the Inferno). It looks like some kind of Sailor Moon type thing to me, I was kind of surprised Urobachi Gen wrote it.

Has anyone seen it? Is it worth watching? I liked Saya no Uta.

It is. It's basically a combination of the overly sweet mahou shoujo genre (for example, Sailor Moon), where everything is cute and everybody is happy, and Faust, the classic play about a guy selling his soul to the devil in exchange for anything he desires. This, written by the writer of Phantom of Inferno and Saya no Uta. It is quite telling when the cutest-looking character in the show is the most evil character of the entire anime season.

DIE EVIL PLUSHIE!!! DIE!!! >.< It's an awesome series. As I told my friends, when you have a serious magical girl otaku like myself screaming at the computer "DON'T DO IT MADOKA! DON'T MAKE THE CONTRACT!!" ... it means ALOT! XD Gen Urobochi is doing a damn fine job with the story coupled with Akiyuki Shinbo's original ideas and direction and Yuki Kajiura's sweet/creepy BGM. It makes me feel nostalgic for the good ol' days of "The SoulTaker" and "Le Portait de Petite Cossette" ;)

Speaking of Nitro+, Demonbane is due to come out sometime mid-late March according to JAST USA. I just pre-ordered my copy today.

Whoever made that image clearly doesn't know Japanese, because 1) that's a contract for borrowing money 2) Kyubey's name is listed as the borrower 3) the bit his tail is pointing to is the place to stamp for joint liability. Perhaps the creator should have done more than Google random Japanese text if he wanted to make a funny picture.

Replace 'money' with 'soul' and it seems pretty darn accurate to me.
