Basically, you need to go to your club every time you can, and do the rest as Nanase route

Thank you very much both Asceai and Mazyrian, I`m gonna try it and finally complete this awesome game. On other theme, I watched the OVAs, the first ones really sucked, but the True stories at least included some parts of the game, but lack of information. Personally, I don't recommend neither of them if you haven't played the game, and if you played it they will make you barf, especially the first ones.

Yeah, the first ones were... interesting. The Nanase one was, at least, watchable. The second ones weren't as bad, though as you say, kinda poor. I think there could be a 13 episode series of this, with about 2 episodes per girl and Nagamori as the last one, though that seems unlikely.

I use Opera as well. Have you tried telling it specifically download the file from the link, instead of trying to open it?

Recently I've been in some kind of Key-mania, having seen Clannad (KyoAni and Toei), Kanon 2002 (becoming possibly the only person in having seen it AFTER the game AND the 2006 version), and starting Air (the VN), and started playing this again. For the third time, becoming thus the VN I've most replayed (am replaying) (not that difficult, actually; besides this, only ones have replayed are Tsukihime and some scenes of FSN). So I started to think, why does I think so much on this, and why I return to it? It didn't even impressed that much the first time I played it, more like growing to me. It isn't my favorite VN. It's however, enjoyable, and maybe is that what gives it replayability; Ever17 blew my mind, but once that passed, there isn't much point in going through it again (except for the romantic routes, which aren't bad but are not that special); FSN is a little long to casually reread. But what is it that makes it that enjoyable? My rationality finds no lack of faults, but still I like it. I guess is the characters; while maybe somewhat stereotyped in themselves and their relation with Kouhei is pretty fun (Nanase is my favorite; a Tsundere I like (is not generally a type I like very much), maybe mainly because she is mostly justified in being violent towards Kouhei) (an exception to all this in Shiina); also the combination of school comedy at first, which then flows naturally into a much more, "melancholic" to say it, route. (Also, the previous play I found that you could build your relationship towards *all* the girls at the same time! At no time that you get the chance to do something with some girl, the other option has something to do with another, so you can do a common route that can then branch into any of the 6 routes (don't know if you can also do it with Hikami) [EDIT: No, it doesn't seem you can] [EDIT 2: This doesn't work. If you meet Shiina, you can't enter Mio or Misaki's path])

Why do you like ONE? Does anyone else feels something similar? Or is there some other VN to which you find yourself returning, for some reason?

I don't really like One or Key games overall but I have same situation with Cross Channel and Muv-Luv Alternative, they have a lot of replayability.

I really liked ONE myself though i don't think its a masterpiece its pretty excellent and I still get the feeling that i wanna play it again sometimes.

I think what makes it special is that the drama was more subtle than alot of VN. The theme of communication and its relation to Kouhei and the somehow handicapped ability to connect with people that each of the heroines possessed. It was pretty touching, significant and subtly handled. The mystery of kouhei's condition is also very intriguing even after you beat the game because it doesn't have a really solid form and is somewhat up to interpretation. Kouhei was overall a really well done main charter.

If you think about it from a character design, thematically, or just at the crying game structure level, its could be one of the most significant VN's ever. though not sure how much really since i haven't played any earlier VN's.

I have a chronic desire to replay Tsukihime, myself, I can't get over how good it is, at the time i had seen nothing like it and its still one of my favorite things ever.

Yes, Tsukihime is also posibly my favorite VN of all; though haven't gone through it in quite a while (been thinkin in replaying Ciel route), still reread sometimes the battle between Shiki and Nrvnqsr.
And now that I remember, the one I've most replayed is actually Utawarerumono, though that one has a significant "game" aspect; were it missing, I doubt I would have played it so many times.

That post makes me wonder one other thing: how popular was ONE in its moment? The later Kanon was a huge hit, but how much success had this?

I don't know, I played through Nanase route but I'm not really that eager to go through other routes... I guess I doesn't like this VN much...
