Any non hentai visual novels around?

Could you suggest some? I like one's with choices and different endings. I've tried all of insani's demos and I'm interested in visual novels.

If you haven't tried them already, http://www.visualnews.net/ has the translated visual novels from al|together 2005.

If you can read Japanese, the 2006 al|together site has links to resources from which you can dig up any number of free visual novels, many of which have choices and different endings.

If you can read Japanese and you have money, you could do worse than to purchase Clannad, or the all ages versions of Kanon, Air or To Heart 2.

If you havn't played it yet I can't suggest Ever17 enough - its the first game I played after Insani's demos and I enjoyed it immensely. Luckily, it's been translated into English. You should be able to find it at Himeya shop (AstCd2's last link).

Yes.
However, Shuffle has a PS2 version which is all ages.

There is a partial patch for the PC version of Air, though I believe this only works for the 18+ version.

I can't say that Anime Advanced's list is 100% accurate. It lists a number of titles that aren't VNs (.hack, Naruto), and omits titles that should be there (Eve Burst Error).

If you're looking for a visual novel that doesn't have any adult content (but might include graphic violence, gore, profanity, and mild fanservice), your best bet is to check out anything from Hirameki International's catalog (Phantom of Inferno, Hourglass of Summer, Ever 17, etc...).

Non-Hirameki titles available in English include Graduation (dubbed), Eve Burst Error, Phoenix Wright (if that really counts), Snatcher (Hideo Kojima), Radical Dreamers (for Chrono fans), Bloody Bride, Planetarian, and any of the stuff released for Altogether 2005. Also, if you don't mind being teased, check out anything on Insani's website except Anonono and Majipuri. These two contain H moments, but the others don't. Keep in mind that none of those titles will be available in English (at least, not anytime soon), and the final product of each contain H.

Of the above, I would recommend picking up Phantom of Inferno, Snatcher, Eve, Ever 17, and Planetarian. I would also recommend Hourglass of Summer, but I want to finish that completely before giving it my seal of approval. However, I honestly recommend checking out Kana and Crescendo despite the fact that they are rated 18+. Both titles are excellent and serve as a great counterpoint to anyone who claims "18+ = porn", if that's what worries you.
