or maybe they'll just briefly scratch the true meaning of the anime (like air) and try to patch up everything that has happened (like air) and try to create this new scenario that they hoped that would achieve the same goal (like air) and end up failing pretty badly (like air)

Care to elaborate? I'm really not getting all this hate for the Movie. It's like some of you were expecting the 14 episode, ~300 minute series to be condensed into one and a half hours...

here is an opinion of someone who haven't played the game (own it, but other then "few" harigana here and there I can't read it). If the movie can follow some sort of a "outline" of the selected character, then I for one am fine, as long as I can play the game one day. If the movie going to tell the full story as "it is" then as someone who haven't played the game yet, it will be a major spoiler.

my view of the movie AIR (and hopefully CLANNAD), is a good quality stand alone story that will keep the watcher "hungry" for more, then it is up to the watcher to get the game and get the "real" story.

Although, if they decide to release one movie per girl (maybe every 6 months) I will even be happier. I am still hoping for a Kanon OVA or Movie that will put Nayuki-sama on the spot light ;-)

That would be soo crazy if they did make a movie per girl, but it would cost WAYY too much, and some of the girl's stories would take much longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes to explain in my opinion.

Looks like preorders for movie tickets are available, and they come with promo DVDs. Looks like the same deal as with AIR the movie. Maybe the 2nd set of preorders come with a book? ;o
