Shiny Summer Days is being delayed for 2 months, furthermore its going to be the last title ever released by Overflow. Their parent company (STACK software) hasn't released anything since 2005 either.

I see it as the full animation VN to have proven to be too expensive. The 3D versions on the other hand (ie, TimeLeap) seem to be doing a bit better since few more companies have adapted the idea and they don't seem to have stopped making them.

I wonder if they are going to start making 3D VNs or if they are going to just make 2D still images ones?

I personally think it'll be something like that.

The general theory I've seen online is that the employee's will be moved to another branch and focus on another style of Visual Novels. Its worth noting how they mention that support is still going to be provided for their titles. If they were closing down then they wouldn't be providing support (or the support provided would be limited at best). So it almost seems like Shiny Summer Days is being used to fund a new branch.

On 4chan, some people mentioned how the cover image doesn't look as anime-esque as their more recent titles. Whether that's a hint of anything is unknown.

I love 0verflow's animated VNs, though… (;_;)

I hope this doesn't affect the English language version of School Days HQ. And I still wanna see an English language version of Shiny Days, too…

That wouldn't happen without major edits due to the 2 Kokoro sex/rape scenes and the dialogue in the 3some ending with Kokoro/Makoto/Kotonoha.

Cross Days however could happen...

Well, I'm sure someone would release a patch to put those scenes back in, hopefully. Although I wouldn't really mind too much if they were removed. At least I'd be able to play the game.

Meh, not too interested in Cross Days, tbh.

By the way, does anyone still have a copy of the Summer Days English trial? This link doesn't seem to work anymore. Maybe I should bug dovac about it…

It was released by 0verflow as April fools a few years ago, I probably lost it somewhere...
