That is the result of a route collision. Meaning that it´s part of and untranslated route.
If it´s something else, you´re gonna have to be a little more specific.

To tell you the truth I have no idea how to install the patch. I downloaded the game but I don't have a clue how to apply this patch. I asked about this earlier but I didn't get a response so I tried to figure it out on my own but so far I've had no luck. Can you help me with this?

Ok, you installed the game. You unRARed the patch.
Back up the files fnt.pak, sdt.pack, and the exe from the game folder. Then replace them with the English patch files and run the game. That should be it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is the exe file the file that runs the program? I replaced the fnt, sdt and the file the runs the program "Toheart 2" with the new ones from the patch and I put the original ones in a new file on my desktop. But I got an error message in Japanese.

.exe is the file that runs the program.
What I did after I backed up the files, was put the RAR file in the game folder, unRAR it in there, replace everything(yes to all), and run the exe
If you still have problems, post a screenshot(upload it to imgur or something alike).

I'm still having problems so I decided to just show you by video of what is happening on my screen. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong I'm putting the files from the xmas patch in the folder but I'm having no luck.

I truly don´t know what to say. Beforehand, I´m sorry if you feel insulted. But you messed up everything, EVERYTHING. You deleted everything in the game folder, it´s never gonna work like that.
Follow my instructions TO THE LETTER:
1-Install the game
2-UnRAR the patch in a separate folder
3-Go to the game folder, select the files fnt.pak, sdt.pak y ToHeart2.exe. ONLY THOSE FILES, and back up them(copy them into another separate folder)
4-Copy and paste the PATCHED FILES, and REPLACE them with those from the game folder(another option is paste the RAR in the game folder, extract in there and replace it that way by selecting "yes to all")
5-Run the game

I got the game via torrent. Do I have to torrent it again?

If you torrent'd it, all you should have to do is look in whatever folder your torrent files are stored (i.e. BitLord folder if you use BitLord for torrenting). Look in your torrent program's downloads folder and your torrent should be there. If not, then you'll have to re-torrent.

This is the first VN I have ever played and I just want to start off by saying thank you Conman for being so awesome! I was introduced to Aquaplus/Leaf's characters from playing Aquapazza and It got me interested in the Toheart series. I just finished Yuuji and Konomi's route a few days ago and I had a blast! But anyways I just wanted to show my appreciation for the great work you done.

Hello, I'm really looking forward to this getting completed, and I wanted to say thank you for the work that's gone into this so far.

I wanted to test out the only patch I could see a link to, the '2011xmaspatch' but, even though it's readme says the patch has all routes translated except Sasara and Ruuko's, I'm still running into lots of Japanese text as early as March 4th (game starts on March 1st) and again on parts of March 5th and 6th, then the entire start of March 7th up till and including the 1st choices of that day while on Konomi's route.

To be a tad more specific, these start out with Manaka speaking to class on the 4th, then after choosing to go to the Mall on the 5th (2nd choice of the day) then Manaka speaking to the class on the 6th after making 1st day's choice ("Don't say anything") and from the start of the 7th day (strangely enough, running into Manaka at start of day and her starting to speak.....she sure seems to start a lot of untranslated speech for someone that supposed to be translated lol) up until and including 1st choices for that day (I gave up at this point so I have no idea if it keeps going like this after making a choice)

That being said, I was wondering, is there a later patch available than the one mentioned? (2011xmaspatch)

Also, I see where the last update to the progress report listed on page one of this thread hasn't been updated since August 25th 2013, and I was wondering if this project was still being worked on or if it was dead?

Well, after a week with no type of response and around a month and a half since previous post in this thread before mine (not to mention the almost 1.4 years since last status update) I guess I can answer my own questions in my previous post...Yes, the project is dead and there is not, nor will there be, a more completed patch than the '2011xmaspatch'.

But to add insult to injury, so to speak, these forums appear to have been taken over by spammers for some time now, notably the 'casesbuyshop' and 'iphone6cases' accounts, and not one attempt has been made to clean it up. Is this site even moderated anymore? (or is the moderator(s) the one(s) doing the spamming? lol)

No wonder this place has been so dead lately and interest seems to have been lost in this project...too much apathy and a general lack of giving a crap by folks in charge here...

It's funny to see you saying too much apathy and lack of giving a crap when you clearly haven't given enough craps to read more than the first page. Evidenced by you asking about the Japanese that pops up in Manaka's speech during some prologue days.

As has been answered at least ten times in these 23 pages (but I'm betting on twice that), the text for those scenes fall with Sasara's route. Hence why they aren't translated yet.

As for the project: yes it's dead. It's been well dead for a couple years. Yes, it's dead because too many people are apathetic. Play enough of the game and you'll realize it's huge. The word count likely surpasses the lord of the rings trilogy. And we got one guy trying to translate it. I have seen some people offer to uncensor the pictures, but only one or two people have offered to help translate/proofread. conman isn't even confident in his own translation if I recall. Right now, I'm betting he's either graduating post-secondary and moving on with life, or dead himself.

As for the forums, never really paid attention to more than this myself.

Otherwise, to all the newcomers that come aboard, I give you this:
Practically any questions you have, have been answered. Do not ask until you've scoured the thread.
Don't expect updates. It's been three years. If you're not going to do it yourself, don't go around asking for more.
If you don't want the project to die: learn japanese first. Then try and contact conman and see if you can carry on his torch.

As someone who only temporarily joined the project, I hardly feel like I am in a position to judge whether it is alive or not. But my inclination is to say that it is indeed on the dead end of the spectrum. At least in the sense that no progress was made in the years before I started working on it that I was aware of, and that there were no signs that the efforts were going to be restarted soon. I think the intentions are good. The work just isn't getting done.

I have not spoken to conman in a while. The last few times we communicated, life always kept him always busy with something or another. There was one instance in which he mentioned he was inspired to translate by my work on the project, but I don't know how much he progressed. I applaud conman for the uncompensated work he has put in, but realistically speaking, at the rate I witnessed the project won't be finished in a meaningful time frame.

As for my work on the project, I finished translate checking the Konomi route a while ago, and some of the Manaka route, but never finished that. I probably rewrote a around 20.000 lines, but with no sign that the work will ever being released, I couldn't justify the time investment and my efforts went stagnant.

I understand that some of you might have an emotional investment in this game, but please do explore other games, and don't wait too anxiously.

I didn't know the forums were still alive rather than the other way around so I hadn't updated the front page. I get nothing but database errors whenever I try to do anything more than rudimentary posting.
