I've made most of the updates listed here but I'd like to issue a brief announcement about the future of my website. Obviously I haven't been paying much attention to it at all these past six months, and I'm grateful to the people above who have been doing my work for me. I don't play a lot of VNs myself--I even ignored the most recent al|together entries--and my intention in maintaining the website has been from the very start to cultivate an English-speaking visual novel community. There are three reasons this is becoming less relevant to me:

1. Whether I forwarded this goal at all or not, it has been reached somehow or another. There are now two major visual novel licensors, MangaGamer and JAST USA (of course, Peter Payne has been doing this forever but I think his deal with Nitro+ is fairly major). I am quite satisfied that visual novels are being given a fair chance to flourish commercially in the USA.
2. A large minority of translation projects these days are being produced specifically by pirates, for pirates, and a great majority of people who play fan translations have pirated the game. This disappoints me because it runs counter to my vision of American and Japanese fans working harmoniously. I could snub the pirates and limit my translations to those approved by publishers and artists, but I'm not gp32 and I know my website does not have that sort of influence on the 4chan crowd.
3. I've always been more interested in religion than anime and I don't really see it as a loss to disengage myself.

Someone else can take over my site in this coming year. I will give you FTP access to the directory at shii.org so there's no hosting issue. I'm going to be writing my senior thesis in October and probably going back to the monasteries next year so the sooner the better.

I bid farewell then Shii. You have been an amazing resource for your collection of VN translations. Although, I'm not sure what your definition of flourish for VN's in America is, but I'll just agree with it since I have little experience in that section.

Thanks Shii for all your work. If you're passing on the index, then perhaps it might be a good idea to shift the index over to encubed and have it available on the same site?

I would be happy to do that if someone on the encubed side is willing to maintain it.

"Brass Restoration" is incorrectly listed as part of the "Humor" genre, when it's actually a "Drama" title. There's some romance, but drama works best for it. It really does not belong in the humor category at all. There are a few funny moments, but overall, every single chapter is drenched in angst.

I have no idea how it will work though.

Haha, I chose an interesting time to check these forums. I meant a Buddhist monastery, if that makes any more sense to you. Also, I've never played the porn games, only ones like Planetarian and Higurashi... it gives you a good sense into the Japanese psyche if you look closely.

Well, it does. But you have to say, it was weird combination, given that most probably monastery is Christian and most probable VN is ero.

It's not that weird; there's plenty of eroges made for Christians, like that Cybele one where the protagonist finds an angel and turns her into his sex slave
