but I'm just wondering what are some other good ones.

Kana is supposed to be good, but I haven't played it.

Sagara Family was a great comedy, but it's been a long time since I played it.

Utawareromono has also got very good ratings at Erogamescape. Partly an SLG, but very easy.

Don't play the English translated games by C's ware. The horrible translation ruins them, although some of them are supposed to be great if you believe Erogamescape's ratings.

Haven't really touched Eien no Aselia, Swan Song, or the Leaf games (Tears to Tiara sucks so far), so I can't conclusively say anything about them.

Aoishiro is aesthetically pleasing, but that's about the only good thing about it.

I was thinking about cross channel but.. just how amazing is it?

the story is quite good, the drama is normal, but the ending can hit you for the rest of your life. Well, that's my impression on cross channel =)

@fujifruit: cross channel's drama is quite good, so is the "depressing element".
And I personally hate the ending >_< (though it can't "hit you for the rest of your life" as Mokyu said, though =) )
I highly recommend that you pick Symphonic Rain >_<
This VN's 10 songs are the last ten songs composed by Ritsuko Okazaki. They're very wonderful! :)

Might want to try Princess Waltz by Peach Princess. Its add a new prespective to VN as a whole as it incoporates card battles. Or maybe even Eien no Aselia, an SRPG VN.

Might be easier just to find this stuff yourself rather than bugging people for recommendations all the time.

Match those titles against the ratings on vndb and try and figure this out yourself.

With ratings I can't see why its good.
That is why I ask people they answer why you should read it.

The ratings on vndb are useless. Most users there don't know Japanese. If you want reliable ratings, use erogamescape.

Some users there barely know English, but that's a story for another time.

Ratings are a guide, nothing more nothing less. Sometimes they are useful, sometimes they are not. However, saying vndb ratings are "useless" is an overstatement.

EGS's ratings aren't really much better (simply due to being a rating site, I suppose) but you can at least be assured that the people there played the game in its original form and understood it properly.

As for translated games, play Saya no Uta. It probably has the best ratio of translation quality to game quality.
