Do you mean, "For us, a new beginning... for them a sad faith."?

If so, you can choose whether or not the curse has been lifted since most people struggle between those two choices ^_^. As for me, I think the curse is lifted for various reasons...

I more believed that it began again when I saw it. The other small boy and girl playing looking like them. I believed like it seemed for me that it would go on. Untill the boy finally find a way.

heck you could make a series of that story :).
