Smile -atled-(アトレッド) Translation

Hey there.

Im working on a translation of atled right now.
Its a great Visual Novel with the Artwork from the same person who did work for the True Tears' Anime.

I will first be doing the demo.
Extracting+Repackaging works fine and at the moment everything up till the OP is translated.

Its my first real translation project, so im really excited and hope that I will be able to finish it at a nice pace :P

Demo is at 31,3~%

Full Game Ep.1 at 11,7~%
Patches are disabled at the moment, because I'm waiting for an email from the production staff of atled.

Well, as with all new projects dropping out of the sky, good luck, and be warned, everything seems possible when a project starts. Get yourself into a rhythm where you can still force yourself to take small steps every day towards finishing -- even when sleeping an extra 2-4 hours looks more interesting than sitting down with the script.

Same art as True Tears? Do you mean the anime? Because Izumi Rei did the art for the game and that sure doesn't look like her's (nor do I see her name).

(Which is too bad because I love her art but thought the True Tears trial was incredibly boring.)

Whoever the artist is: it looks nice :)

Are you translating just the first game or all 3?

Also:

This statement is confusing, and misleading at first.
The artist is not the same person who did the art for the game True Tears. The artist is the same person who did art for the True Tears _anime_, however.

Are you just working on the trial versions? The actual games are kind of hard to obtain, as they are only available as extras for an adult magazine, Pasokon Paradise, with the three parts being in three separate issues (2008-12,2009-01,2009-02). Since these are adult products, Amazon Japan won't ship them internationally.

Well, I too wish you good luck with this game (that beautiful opening theme has me wanting to try this game) and I hope the translation project is a success.

I will be doing all those parts I can get.
And yes, it is like Asceai said. Sorry for the confusion.

It is about Aoba. She plays guitar out on the streets.
She has no parents, grew up in a orphanage.
And then theres a book which seems to grant every wish. :P
But in which context they stand, I do not want to say.

I myself dont know the very extent of the story.
I like the style, and the spoiler I read (not very far into the story), seems to be interesting.

Regarding the obtainability of the game:
Sadly, yes it is hard, my loved bookshop guy tries to find them right now for me, but at the moment I only have the first one.

My bookshop was able to find copys of the magazine.
So I will probably translate all 3 parts.

On the project site, a patch for 16.5% of the demo is online, for you to look into the game and scolding me.

Im happy about any serious critic and information.

See you.

Yes, we demand access to this mysteriously wonderful bookshop!

On a more serious note, keep up the good work. I'll try the demo once exams are done and over with.

That question is a bit tricky to answer.

Amazon.co.jp does have the games apparently, and auctions.yahoo.co.jp does, too.
Both will not ship internationally, though.
For such shops, I have my local bookshop, which imports practically everything I ask for.
You could ask himeyashop.com wether they will be able to get a copy for you, or any other shop which sells visual novel.

That mysterious bookshop (only practically for people who live in Germany, though you can ask them wether they will ship elsewhere):
http://ocs-de.com/
or the english site:
http://www.shipocs.com/

And yes, even though it says Overseas Courier Service, they have bookshops here xD

Okay, I think I'm sold on these games; gonna see if I can find 'em. The good news is that they don't seem to be that hard to come by - Yahoo! Auctions has people selling all three games as a set for no more than 1000 yen.

I sadly had to buy them (with shipping) for 81 $ :P

For those, who don't know how to get items at Yahoo Auctions:
http://shii.org/translate/
has a liste named "Shopping" with sites that will import things for you.
I already made an inquiry to akibado for the games price (game price+comission+shipping).
I will post it here, when I get an answer.
