At Jastusa's forum, it seems they are heading to Otakon, and some other anime conventions too.

I know I said this in another thread, but is anyone going? I'd like to try to meet people this year! (last year.... It was my first con, and i saw the dealer's room.... my god...)

in other news,
PirateBay is no more.... or more accurately, they have been bought by someone for $7.7m, who is hoping to turn it in a legal webshareing site.... no word yet on, if the new owner will still keep it as an "international" site or "selected countries" site (once they take over and start selling).

Pirate Bay sells out to Swedish software firm for $7.7m

Wow. Just... wow.
Note that this only affects the main page, all the {subdomain}.product.co.jp sites are unaffected, thankfully, because a lot of eroge groups, especially doujin groups have their websites under that.

Yeah, I posted about that yesterday in the other thread since I was thinking "Dumba** move on VA's part in trying to get their US fanbase since I've is working on getting out in the US and possibly Key with the translation of "white clover" being done by the guy who runs visualstyle."

I was able to get to the main page last night around 12:30 EST and rejoiced. And then found it back to that stupid msg again when I logged on just now to finally read this month's visualstyle >( I'm thinking now... hacker.

Asceai: What doujin groups are under VA's brand?

There's a few, and I don't really feel like digging them up by now, but I _can_ type product.co.jp into my address bar and give you whatever Firefox remembers:

I think what happened was that their initial IP block ended up blocking some people *inside* Japan as well, like those on YahooBB. Thus, I believe they've been fine tuning the IP blocks since then.

Not surprising, considering what the original article is linking to...

Son of a... okay. This is now starting to get way outta hand. Both sides need to calm the F*** DOWN. I'm going to give this ONE MONTH and not touching it. Because all it will do is piss me off, and I don't need it right now.

Some happier news... :)

Sekai Project's, School Days translation releases Episode 1!
Quote:
Episode 1 Release 1.0.0.40 CODENAME 'Kinomoto Sakura'
Quote:
It only took us two years and three months, but we're finally able to bring you the first episode for School Days! I know what you're thinking, "Oh, it's only episode 1. I've watched that demo video of it many times over already while waiting for you guys." Yes, we took forever to finish, but this game isn't like your ordinary visual novel.

A lot of problems were in staffing. Not many people who play eroge know how to hack DirectX9, and not many people know how the Overflow game engine works either. It took basically 4 or 5 people to understand and manipulate the engine for a proper English translation. As you play the game you'll notice the subtitles changed into a smaller (perhaps more readable) style, we also took time to translate important visuals such as the note-passing between Sekai and Makoto. Once we figured everything out, the rest was easy work.

All in all, I'm just trying to say we took this long because we were going into uncharted territory and trying to build the foundations for our translation. Of course, future episodes shouldn't take as long and I hope to be at episode 3 or 4 by the end of the year.
