So basically you're "childishly" blabbering about some "childish" remarks just because they use domain with words "visualnews-" in it? oh god. first it's just an alternate domain and they never called the site visualnews in any way.

besides, no one will care when there's 2 papers called "TIMES" and "TIMES-NEWS" in london... as long as both papers compiled different things then people will be more than obliged to read both.

It's not actually my business at all about this whole "childish" name craps. But If I'm you and really want to mention it by any way I'll just joke it off and say "your site's domain sounds similar with mine" and that's it. Honestly who'll care if there are 2 similar names of websites. People don't need the name, people need the contents.

Rather than attacking them, why don't you just live it off and start build up your own fame so that people know that visualnews name belongs to you. To me you just sounded like a jealous child seriously...

NOTE : It was me who replied as unregistered above. and for Asceai, I might be misunderstanding your post so for that i apologize.
but I still don't like it why you have to mention "animuporngames" blah blah. It sounded to me that you're disgracing the genre visual novel itself. but I know you just randomly typing before you think and I won't take any problem with that.

I was just saying that I wouldn't mind if he called it that. =P Not that it's likely that he would.

The subjects of our sites are close enough to warrant overlap in content, lots of overlap even.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that totaly normal for news sites?

But I don't believe it warrants overlap in strategy, even less in self-presentation. So I'm not buying it that the way visual-novels has followed most organizational steps taken by VisualNews is merely a coincidence.
I can't help it but it sounds to me like that you try to cut of some of the success our site had/ has. But it's only a claim so don't take it personaly. I just can say this one thing: Besides visiting your forum from time to time I maybe visited your site twice in 1 year. What kind of strategies/ plans you had/ have is absolutely uninteresting to me. Believe it or not, I don't care. However note that continuing to claim things like "we copied you", especialy when your site is down, is something which presents you and your site really unprofessional.

Yes, it is a childish complaint, but it's a childish problem too. From this end, almost everything you've done looks like it was copied from Misu's concepts.
Exactly, it's childish. I'm 21 dude, I'm studying law and I don't have the time for such a discussion nor the will. You don't like our site - I'm fine with it. But claiming that we were copying all the time from VisualNews is unprofessional. Not to mention you insult with that my whole teams' work - which is unacceptable. That's my last word on it. This is far to off topic. My next posts will be about the site's status only. If you want to continue discussing this issue do it, but without me. I'm hereby also requesting my staff to stop any discussion regarding this topic.
If you like Message we can meet personaly in around 5 weeks when I'm after my exams. As I live in Krefeld which is near the border to the Netherlands that shouldn't be a problem.

End of discussion and back to topic.

If it's childish, then why bother?

And does it just "look" like it was copied, or is it. You should make up your mind.

EDIT: The only reason there is a problem is because you made one. Oops, your bad.

Someone care to explain to me why this e-drama needs to be started? Please?

Look at AniDB and AnimeNfo. Then look at Anime News Network. Then look at their databases. They're pretty much doing the same thing. Are they copying each other?

Another thing I should mention, Message. This thread is about Visual-Novels.net being down. Not about how Visual-Novels.net is copying VisualNews or whatnot.

I agree with Velocity7. I hate to see you fighting anyway, since I really like both your sites :(

Besides, I really think that they were different. And they kind of compliment eachother that way, since sometimes one site has what the other doesn't... and then you can always find what you are looking for. (Well, almost always)

Good News, we are ALMOST back.
The site as all domains and redirects work now properly. Now it depends all on how fast our webadmin can move the database.

Indeed. In this day and age, we promote many different things which may seem similar on the surface but differ in ways not apparent at first.

I also used to visit both sites to get my news - and yes they did complement each other.

Not really..
There are several problems with the sql databases which forced us to close the forum and stop publishing new content till we have fixed them.
And as both, our admin and I myself have exams at university we don't know exactly when we'll be able to fix that problems. Maybe someone I know can help.
He told me he'll deal with it tomorrow, so hopefuly we'll be able to get back to net completely in a few days..

If you have any issues which are low-tech/mindless, I can help with those. =).
