It means very little. That's just how Japanese names can be written. Kanji are more popular though. Have you seriously not seen a name written in kana before? Like, nearly all eroge have at least one character with a name like that. You can use Kanji, you can use Hiragana, you can use Katakana, you can even MIX them.

You generally don't see real names getting too exotic though, the Japanese being as they are.

I did see names written in kana, I just started to wander if it meant anything. I'll take it as it is being normal and have no meaning behind it*. Thanks for the update.

* with the exception of people who still write their names in kana even though their names are in kanji.

For those who don't read the front page first at times, -me-, a claimed "minori" has engaged in edit war with TLWiki.

Rather than "with", it's more like "at"; no one representing TLWiki had anything to do with it.

Also, they're not "claiming" to be minori; their IP address resolves to a *.minori.ph domain.

Damnit, shit's getting serious.

I seriously hope that the ef lite standalone can make it through the flames unscathed, because nnl has continued to persevere despite the odds against them. Besides, I've sided with them ever since minori decided to take a "Foreigners GTFO" stance, because that's just a dick move on their part.

Indeed, I wonder how much longer the minori rep'll bother to reply to them

Does anyone else find it deliciously ironic that minori bans foreigners from their website, yet registers it under a Philippines domain name?

In some ways, it's pretty representative of our fandom, whether we're referring to legal or illegal users. MangaGamer has to put up with this on a regular basis (in fact, some of the people responding to minori are the same ones in question), and I'm surprised that they haven't tightened up the moderation. Seriously, they host a bitch (complete with super hostile "fuck you" messages to MG and the Japanese licensors) and request board rather than a discussion forum of any sort. The same goes for their blog.

That's the stupid, disrespectful fanbase we are. While I can understand the discontent, some common courtesy from foreigners couldn't hurt. If anyone were to look at us from the outside, they'd see little more than a bunch of boorish assholes who must clearly be in the wrong.

Those who responded with disrespectful and ungrateful words, some even bared their fangs at the TLWiki administrators and Moogy claiming they were cowards in removing the content.

They're free to open their own wiki or translation site, just keep in mind that a half decent lawyer costs like $300 an hour, and I doubt countersuing for legal fees will get you anything even if you do win the copyright case, and there's no profit to yourself anywhere in sight. Stick it to 'em, guys!
