Default FAte/Hollow Ataraxia

So yea, the Trial Demo for Fate/Hollow Ataraxia has been out for almost a month.

Any word from insani about a pending translation of the free-demo?

*innocent but hopeful grin*

insani won't be doing it -- there was this ceremony where gp32 swore vengeance against Nasu Kinoko and his descendents to the seventh generation, etc.... very touching.

That said, the script tools we made for the original Fate demo still work, so if anyone else wants to tackle it, programming support is available.

You can get it from Type Moon's site. They used to have a BitTorrent download, but now it looks like they have the usual set of HTTP mirrors instead.

It says they killed the torrent when it slowed down. Quite sensible, really - use a torrent to cover the initial excitement, then switch to HTTP when you run short of seeds.

The smell of charred flesh was heavy upon the internet for weeks afterwards! I was sorry to have doubted the power of gp32, and have since rectified my disturbing lack of faith.

The tools you developed for Fate - what would you estimate the difficulty would be in porting them to a more Win32-friendly state?

That was my other question, which I apparently forgot to post! It's been a while since I've battled with Cygwin...

Fairly minimal difficulty. They should already be endian-clean and just need a slightly more portable method of reading in directory trees to compile on Windows as-is. I'd have done it already if I had an appropriate compiler set up. If there's any serious interest, I'll make sure it happens, but the trial edition has like 200K of script files (say the word if anyone wants to look at them), so it's not exactly a casual undertaking to translate it.

I have to say it compiles fine on MinGW (my copy of the tools at least).

The reason is not so much for the Ataraxia trial edition specifically (heaven knows I've got enough backlogged projects as it is withOUT the need to add another one - much less Nasu Kinoko) but just for a general KAG3 unpacking tool that I'm really interested in the portability of the tools you guys used for Fate. I might tinker around with it on my own, after Zalas' report - assuming I can find a little bit of this mysterious thing called 'time'...

If you are really lazy, you can always use the Susie XP3 archive handler to extract files.
