Default [id janee!] Studio e.go! Thread

Figured there might be some people interested in discussing games from Studio e.go!, so I've created a thread. And to kick things off, the new title of Studio e.go!'s Izumo2 after-story is unfortunately not called "Kotono After ~it's a haremful life~" but "Izumo 2 ~Campus Rhapsody~". From the story description, it doesn't look too serious, as it starts with Sakuya coming back from the Otherworld along with Ninigi, who claims to be Sakuya's betrothed. Sakuya then proceeds to embrace Takeru claiming he was her lover. Yeah... you can see how this is going to turn out <_<;

Eggo's considered harmful? <_<; Great, now I can just see a throng of e.go fanboys going "L.ego! my e.go!"

Is there a reason behind all the "Japanese Word ~english phrase~" titles?

Well, it's not actually case for Izumo 2. The original text read: IZUMO2 -学園狂想曲-; I simply translated the subtitle.

I didn't know they remade Eggos with Genders? O_o

Does that mean every box is 1 male Eggo to 15 female ones?

I'm so glad I switched to the Safeway generic brand.

Googles "Eggo" to find out what the heck they're all on about

Suggests anyone who doesn't know what he was on about should google "go to considered harmful".

May I have my "thread-derailer of the year" award now, please? <_<

Wow, maybe I should switch my major BACK to computer science. When they get on a soapbox, programmers are INFINITELY less self-aggrandizing and mind-numbing than English majors.

And apologies to all who were thrown by the reference to 'Eggos' - they're frozen waffles sold in the US and a favorite breakfast food of little kids and college students.

That's tame for Dijkstra. More representative of his writing is How do we tell truths that might hurt?, from which we get famous quotes like "It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration."

Anyway, back to Studio e.go. Seems light-entertainment titles are going to be the new Big Thing, what with Little Busters and so on reputedly heading that way too...

Probably because it's much easier to write crappy comedy than actually good stories? =P

Well they've done the tragic love story, and the perponderance on the nature of humanity, and the playfully-sleazy comedy. I guess light entertainment is the next niche that the are going to done to death. I wonder what will come after that?

Horror? (both psycho-thriller, and gore?)

... now that would be extremely interesting... a Romance Game in the Japanese "Gore" genre... i wonder how that would even work...

I don't know about romance, but isn't Higurashi no Naku Koro ni a wildly popular series of doujin visual novels centered on the suspense/thriller genre?

Yes it is, and deservedly. Anyone interested in visual novels should read Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and if I had unlimited time I'd translate it ^.^

And Higurashi is a lot more than just thriller. It also is light comedy, light romance, and good drama :D
