In the third beat of bar 17. It's pretty clear that the notes are F#1 A3 and E5.
I don't know if the player used nose or...
You'll have to redo the bass-clef portion of bar 17, because it's getting too hard to play again. Either bring the lowest notes up an octave, or the higher notes down. Keep it compact.

As for the first set of chords in the treble-clef portion in bar 17, can we eliminate the lowest B from it?

Otherwise, looking good so far. Keep it up!

Thanks for the help.
I think it looks better now. I did a separated bass part from bar 17.
http://www.fileupyours.com/files/91132/Narcissus(split bass).pdf
shall I merge the bass part to the main part? bring it up an octave first?

EDIT: or shall I give it another colour and merge it to the main part?

Bring up the bass part an octave, merge it with the main part, and see what you come up with. We can always decide how to go from there.

And if I may suggest it, do you think you can clean up the bass of the main part a little? It's a little....complicated, and sounds jumbled with played together with the treble. Try to keep it a bit cleaner.

I tried to bring the bass part up but it doesn't sound good if I just bring it up an octave. I think it needs some arranging.
Yea, it does sound jumbled especially without the bass part. I tried removing all the middle part and it sounded ok, just less interesting.
This is the sheet with all the notes in the bass part in blue. Maybe you can have a look at it.

This is a quantized midi file that I think any arranging software will take..

Okay, given it as much of a playthrough as I possibly could...

Keep the treble and the bass part, they're good enough as it is. My suggestion at this point; if you think you're up to the task, scrap the middle part altogether, and try to build a new one around the bass part. You see, I don't need it to sound exactly like it did in the original MIDI; just something that sounds similar is enough. ;)

Hi Ascaloth, I have to say sorry..I don't think I can do it by myself since I can't play piano. Also I don't take music in school so my knowledge is not sufficient to do arranging..
There's no original MIDI(only original mp3). Would you play it how you want it to sound? then arrange it to the way you play it if you still need a sheet. The quantized midi file is exactly the same of the sheet I posted. You can arrange from there..

It's perfectly fine. Thank you for what you have done so far. :)

Much thanks to Josh and his master index. I'm surprised no one posted about it sooner, though. @.@;;

That aside, search under the anime section and you'll find four songs already transcribed: Narcissu, Rather Than a Life of Finality, Lamune 79's, and Scarlet.

Narcissu was kept entirely intact in this particular arrangement, so there's still that eye popping mess...

And something about the note placement in Scarlet seems off. I'm merely a casual piano player, so I don't have enough expertise on music theory to find out for myself. Can someone please check this?

Look at the date of the post :p, although sperion-san transcibed scarlet back in 2005, I believe he did the other three just recently.

Thank you very much for letting us know XD

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but i thought i might add a bit to it.

I transcribed Scarlett and most of Narcissu in 2005, and luckyovermind is right in saying that the other two are reletively recent. (However i didn't upload them until 2007 though, so i doubt the sheets could be found unless you personally know me.) Anyway, the older transcriptions are rather messy but i am too lazy to go through them (too much of a mess!). Fortunately, GoDLikE kindly corrected Narcissu and his version is posted at http://bbs.popiano.org/viewthread.php?tid=103615 (i am sorry it is a chinese site, but that is the only place i know of that you can find the score). His version corrected a few notes, and is definitely more pleasant to look at.

Hope this is useful for those who want a good piano score of Narcissu.

Edit: forgot to say that i updated the score on my website to incorporate the changes and to improve the layout.

I remembered noticing this thread a while ago while I was researching Narcissu, but after today when I finally got around to playing it, I really fell in love with the Narcissu piano theme. So I'd like to offer my thanks to everyone in this thread and to Sperion for his arrangement. Thank you!
