Default 29 Interviews with VN Fan Translators

Over this past week, I have attempted to contact all 75 of the translation groups in existence, of which I was able to secure 29 interviews (an impressive response! thank you guys). There are others who have expressed interest while others I am expecting their reply, so I believe the number of interviews will increase bit by bit.

Some Highlights may include:
Moogy (co-founder of TL Wiki, Saya no Uta, Sharin no Kuni)
Ixrec (head of Amaterasu, Muv Luv, Cross Channel... etc)
Phar (translator for Symphonic Rain, YU-NO)
Phlebas & echoMateria (Tears to Tiara, Eien no Aselia)
Sheeta (editor for Amaterasu)
pondrthis (G-Senjou no Maou)

And there are many others.

Please check out http://visualnovelaer.wordpress.com/ and leave a comment for the interviewees to show your support.

If you would like to be interviewed, please email aaerutranslation@hotmail.com. State your name, the project you are working on, and what kind of things you do (hacking? TLC? editing?). I do not care for how ponderous your reputation may be. As long as you can prove to me that you are involved in a fan translation of some kind, I will be more than happy to oblige. Remember, I am here to promote your work (to the wider VN readership) as well as raise the level of awareness the community has for your project.

Thank you,

Aaeru.

I am well aware that these boards are home to many many trolls who would like to have a bone with me. What I would say to them is that, 'I do what I want. This is something I am personally interested in. Is it not the same for you when you translate VNs.'

Kudos for the hard work, Aaeru! now we can look at the different perspectives and schemes of each group.

Are you going to interview Makoto?
He seems like a mysterious guy, and I would like to know more about him.

firestorm717 did email me actually. But the subject of the email was not Togainu no Chi, it was Otome Central's Princess Nightmare.

Somebody told me to try messaging 'Dagger' on Animesuki.com so I did.

Okay sounds interesting. I will need to do some research first so it might take some time. I feel nobody would want to speak to an interviewer who is unprepared.

I disagree with just about everything he said o.o...

Like the "Fan translator=Free game"
You still have to buy the game no one ever told them to pirate it.

And for asking companies
We would have no Fan translations then.

I'd love to interview Apoptosis, except there is very little I can actually ask him/her and expect to get answers. All the Innocent Grey stuff is sticky business right now.

You should consider doing an interview with filler who translated Welcome to Pia Carrot! on the PCFX (and a couple of JRPGs). He is also working on Welcome to Pia Carrot 2 on the PC at the moment.

His perspective would be interesting since he sees eroge just as games and not as this completely seperated sub-culture some people make it out to be.
