My advice is to go learn more Japanese, then come back and play it again and you will get more out of it.
I hate the elitism shown by some people as much as anyone, but I really think he was just trying to help people get more enjoyment out of it.

Oh well... it's funny seeing the errors that Google makes, at least.
Wow, couldn't they get Nitro+ USA to look over it or something, now they have an English speaking branch? Oh well, wouldn't want to break N+'s reputation for great Engrish ("About what case of the noids you get?").

It is the same artist. I suppose he just sort of forgot how to draw. Background art is still awesome, but in general I wouldn't bother with the game because the scenario writer isn't Takehaya

Next game. It's by NYAON and KusuKusu, it's got a name that refers to the weather, it has to be good. Plus you won't have to pay hundreds of dollars for this one (well, not immediately; it'll probably skyrocket in price after a year or two anyway)

There isn't really an "English branch" of Nitro+. The "staff" of Nitro+ USA pretty much consists of us TLWiki guys and Peter.

And besides, Nitro+ actually has someone on staff who speaks English very well. We received some very helpful comments on the Demonbane translation from them, and they even corrected a few translation mistakes. We're not sure who it is since we didn't get to talk to them directly, but we think there's a good chance it's Haganeya himself, given the extremely obscure mythos stuff they clarified for us... Anyway, the question is why Nitro+ didn't ask this guy, not why they didn't ask us.

Perhaps they felt that it wasn't worth the time and effort to make it correct for a Japanese audience? :x

It's still sloppy work, even if most of the audience won't realise it's sloppy work.

Is it my impression, or do almost every VNs contain a lot of mistakes? (Expecially in regard to foreign words)
For example, in F/sn the name アインツベルン is always mispelled (generally, writing "EinzBREn" instead of "EinzBERn") and you can find the names イリヤ and イリヤスフィエル translittered Ilya and Iliyasviel with one or two "l" by the author. In the trial it's written "Ilyasfeel Von Einzbren".
In Kira Kira the titles of the various chapters of the game and most of the songs are in "English" and often they don't make any sense: what does it mean "Even in There Youth"? And the title of the song "lead to you dream"?
In Tropical Kiss, in the config menu, you can read "Syutem" right below the title menu "System Config"...
And you offered the example of steins;gate...

I'm glad to see all the people playing / talking about playing Gin'iro. I consider that to be one of the best VNs, ever, period. It's the only game I'd give a 10/10 rating to. And Symphonic Rain is not far behind. I strongly recommend both of these games to anyone who can play them.

But despite that fact that the Fandisc is about to be released, no one is (re-)playing Rui wa Tomo o Yobu? I've already pre-ordered the fandisc, so I decided it was the perfect time to replay, and I'm enjoying every minute this time around as well. RuiTomo would have gotten a 10/10 from me, if only the "true" route hadn't been attached to that particular character's route...

Coμ was *almost* as good, but just couldn't hold up in the story department. Too much time spent on action sequences, I guess.

While I can't comment on steins;gate specifically, here's an exercise for those of you who are English/Other multilingual: Find a work by Rudyard Kipling you like. Read it in English. Run it through Google Translate to your Other language. Read it again. Can you say it's the same?

Can anyone playing S;G tell me how answering cell texts affect the game? Is this what they replaced the mousou trigger system with?

They're important + will affect the way things unfold. Use a kouryaku if you're worried

UPDATE~

Cross off Tasogare no Sinsemilla and Majino Complex from that list because I just finished those, but add STEINS;GATE and Omega no Shikai final chapter.
確かにエロゲーが終わらない

Is Omega any good? I've been curious about it, but the official site is so uninformative that I couldn't get a grasp on what kind of story it is and never tried it out.

They're rather unusual.. thematically I guess I'd almost compare them to Higurashi, but they're still very different. Note that if you do want to grab it, just get the final chapter- it's the easiest to find since it just came out and it contains all the previous chapters.

Hesitant to finish past what I saw in the demo (ie. chapter 1) on the off chance that a translation project will spring up... The game (+ subsequent youtubing) made me a fan of Miyano Mamoru, Asami Imai, and Hanazawa Kana though.
