Ahh, so you're one of the people he was picking up those copies for, lol. I'm half-surprised he hasn't shipped it yet.

I know fate/zero's a prequel and everything, but isn't that kind of... spoilerific?

It is pretty bad, but is mostly... understandable. I played it and liked it in spite of its engrish.

As for me, finally got around to play Symphonic Rain, and been playing since a while Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.
Maybe after that will get to finish airy[F]airy.

It's better than a machine translation but not by a whole lot. Basically, you have to work to derive meaning, but you'll get the gist of it no problem.

You can forget about enjoying the prose though (which ruins a reading experience IMO, but YMMV. I think that if you throw out prose quality, you might as well read a two-page plot summary instead of the actual work, but I guess some people only care about understanding what something means).

A few questions this topic made me think of that I hope someone can answer:

1. Will MangaGamer be translating Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei, the Higurashi fandisk?

2. Should I read Fate/Zero before Fate/Stay Night? I know it's a prequel but does it have any spoilers?

3. Where does Kara no Kyoukai fit into the F/SN/Tsukihime canon? Should I read that before or after F/SN (I've already read Tsukihime)? I'm scared of spoilers ;_;

1. Don't know, but there is a partial fan translation around, if you can find it.

2. No. As you have expressed some fear of spoilers, certain aspects of Fate/Zero would spoil Fate/Stay Night. Plus Zero was written after Fate/Stay Night.

3. It exists in the same universe (sort of). It will not spoil Fate/Stay Night at all the stories are completely unrelated. Where it fits in the grand scheme of things is that many ideas in Kara no Kyoukai were used in Tsukihime. In some ways it was a prototype Tsukihime. For example Ryougi Shiki a principle character in Kara no Kyoukai and Tohno Shiki have similar abilities. Also many of the character designs in Kara no Koukai were used in Tsukihime. For example, you will notice that Kokutou Mikiya one of the principle characters in Kara no Kyoukai looks an awful lot like Tohno Shiki.

Hope that helps.

Nah, I'd prefer to play the game how it's meant to look. Maybe I'll mess around with it after I finish it.

Reading the plot, the game seems veryveryvery stupid, but it's deeper than one could think.
Those of us that follow scenario writers know Tropical Kiss' writer quite well. That's entirely why I'm playing it- the writer. I was so sad when he announced his retirement. Seems like most of the really good writers are walking out the door...

- Going to read Steins;Gate now.

Finishing up Narci2, probably going for Cross Channel soon after. Someday soon I'll play Crescendo, too, and I'll officially be the last person on earth to play it >_>
