It was published. It will basically be just the same as the already published novel with pictures and music.

It was published, but in very limited quanties, and it was around 1998, when nobody even knew of this Nasu guy, so any copies are unlikely to have survived.

At least, I want to believe he revised the original Mahoyo, if only to fit the VN format better.

Can anyone tell me what the deal with Girls' Work is?
Is it written by Nasu? Does it fit in to the Tsukihime/Fate world? Is it even a VN?

It's a new VN by a couple former Liar-Soft staff - probably a new area of development, as opposed to an extension to the Nasuverse.

Unless Nasu has some secret decade-long project in the works, he's just coasting along, collecting all those royalties from licensed Type-Moon products (and contributing story material, wherever it's needed). They're flush with cash, even without releasing anything.

* Ring Ring * Ring Ring *
The ringing that shivers through my apart prods me awake me with it's icy fingers.
"Shut up, ringing"
I wonder if I deny the ringing, it will cease.
* Ring Ring * Ring Ring *
Ahh, I guess not.
* Ring Ring * Ring Ring *
Yeah yeah, I'm coming.
I pick up the cold, white phone. I'm still drowsy so it takes me a few tries to get my hand on the reviver.
"Moshi mo-"
My voice is cut off by a loud yell. It is too early in the morning for yelling.
"NASU!"
"There's no need to shout so early!"
"Nasu, it's midday."
My blood runs cold, I had no idea it was that early!
"Anyway Nasu, this is your bank manager."
Ahh. It's "that" time again.
"You've blown all your money on body pillows and instant noodles. Again."
"Hmm..." I say, uninterested "How problematic"
"You're going to have to sort this out, and quickly"
"Yeah yeah, I'll do something."
He starts to say something else but I drop the receiver back in to it's cradle with a clatter. The receiver lying in it's cradle reminds me of a sleeping baby. I think what it would be like to press a baby to my ear.
"YAAAWN. It is too early"
I drop some instant noodles into a pan of water and scatter some flavouring dust over them. I turn the heat up and slump against the wall of my apartment's kitchen. I copy and paste a lot of stuff about from cooking from Wikipedia, but actually I surprisingly don't know anything. Luckily I have hundreds of packets of instant noodles, some dating back to 2003.

Oh yeah, money. That's what that troublesome bank manager was talking about. I need more. I force myself to my feet and try rub the sleep from my eyes, but it's like trying to dig a hole at the beach with your fists. Oh man, I gotta write that nonsensical metaphor down to use in my next VN... Hahaha!
I laugh at my own joke. Next VN! Ha!

I pick my phone back up.
"Sorry phone" I say to it, I know how it feels to be rudely awaken today. I hit the speed-dial number for the office (number two, number one is Studio Deen. I call them a few times a day asking if they want to do a Fate/hollow ataraxia anime. I can't think why they haven't said yes yet...) and some underling picks up the phone.
"Oh, Nasu-san it's you"
"I need more money. Make another Fate game"
"Umm... Okay, what shall we call it?"
I grab my English dictionary and pick two random words.
"Fate/Close Rest, just make Capcom do it all"

Exhausted from the hard days work, I nearly collapse but I manage to stagger to my bed.
"Man," I say out loud "Nasu does it again!"

Girls' Work takes place in Shinjuku, the same setting as Forest, and Meteor said it's supposed to be somewhat similar to Forest in general. Needless to say, this should make it a high priority for everyone.

It seems that they have officially gone professional.
Who could think of this 5 months ago? =)

BTW, does anyone think that Minori will let them translate future games or just make them translate Eden* (it's half done when the negotiation started, anyway) and dump them like a bag of garbage? =)

If they have gone professional, their translations had better start being professional. No more 'Supah' junk, cutting out lines, or making characters constantly drop cluster f-bombs (Kei's tone may have originally been a bit terse, but she didn't swear every other line.)

Regarding professional translations, there are no set rules on how faithful the text needs to be. The methodology used by NNL is actually close to the game industry preference (which is likely why they adopted it as opposed to fansub norms.....the main difference is that in the game industry, translators often go over the changes with the original writers, to ensure that everyone's okay with it), regardless of what the fansub community tends to favor.

It's for English visual novels in general, actually.

Yeah, but nobody cares about those. Besides, there's already a forum for that sort of thing.
