I was actually quite satisfied by Archer's english. The unlimited blade works chant especially almost seemed more badass thanks to the heavy accent.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not ticked off by the English or anything, and it's definitely fine for a Japanese seiyuu. On the other hand:

No Engrish accent at all!

come on, the voice actor is japanese, you really shouldn't expect him to pull off the stiffness that Arnold Schwarzenegger does in the T series, its impractical that and it would be very freaky.

This is a bit of a weird episode. A CG dragon that might have waddled straight out of a PS1 game? Very Freudian, I'm sure, but it looks so ridiculously out of place compared to everything else in the entire series that I can't think what the producers must have been smoking. I guess they blew so much budget on Archer's climax that they had to make the first half of this episode on a shoestring. And then it turns out they're going to stretch this battle over yet another episode?

*sigh*

To think that when they said "24 episodes", I thought that meant they'd be trying to fit some plot advancement in along with the fights...

Oh, and, there's a new OP all right. It's crap.

(The animation behind it is interesting, though. It contains some scenes I'd have... sworn there's no way are going to take place in the anime. Though, I guess there is that report mentioned on Moon Phase that says the anime will be taking its own route after the Illya arc is finished, so maybe they really are going to start some serious mixing-up of material from the other two scenarios? Not that I can see where they're going to find room, if all the fights are going to start lasting three episodes.)

So far as the contents of the episode you pretty much said it all haeleth, so I'll leave it at that..


But as far as the new intro goes, it frightens me slightly. I really hope that they don't pull from all the scenarios just enough to spoil them all while delivering something that comes across half-baked. I was hoping they'd stick to one path, so I could still enjoy the plot twists of the others when my Japanese advances enough to play the game itself.

That dragon looked like something inspired from a bad drug-induced dream. "Hey! Let's put a dragon in there! We need an F'ING dragon!"

And that was the point the series just became sad. They could've at least given us some animated pr0n (Elfen Lied did it!) if we were going to be subjected to such terrible... well, whatever that dragon was.
