Talking Kanon KU Beta Patch released by NDT

THIS IS #NDT([|||||||||||||||||||||||||||<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3]) | Projects: Kanon (KU Beta: Released), DDL, BMD, PoFV, Dynagon | New: Kanon : http://radicalr.pestermom.com/KanonTeaser.7z | ProjectMOOGY : http://tsukuru.info/tlwiki/ | WE NEED JP->EN TLs

//NDT
//Kanon (teaser release)
//12/7/08

What you need for this:

Kanon Standard Edition
All Ages has been confirmed working with this patch,
but it's not currently supported at this time.

If you are prompted for the font, choose DejaVu Sans Mono.

Note: This is for optimal playing since lines are lined up nicely with this font.
You can choose other fonts; however, it won't come out looking as nice.

Reminder: Be sure to set the players' name in Kanon.

Expected bugs:

Sometimes, the first letter, when you load a scene, will overlap with the second letter.
We have not found the cause of this bug. We make no plans to actively fix this bug.

Bugs or typos?

Email to radicalr@gmail.com

Planned full release?
Hopefully by Ayu-day.
But we cannot promise anything.
Voice Patch will be done after the full patch as been developed.

Well huh.. I guess I'll take a peek at this.

EDIT: Translating 'ちなみに、2時でも1時間の遅刻だ。' in the prologue to '...which would only have been one hour late.'.

While the translation is not incorrect, is that really the impression that the line is supposed to carry? Seems to me like something more like '...which would still have been an hour late.' would have been closer to the truth. (in my opinion. I could very well be mistaken)

Still, maybe I'm just hallucinating. It IS nice to see this finally translated, anyway - translating the text in the OP video etc. was done very well too.

Asceai, don't worry too much about the translation accuracy. It's FAR BETTER than nothing. Actually, i'm kinda screaming 「やふうううやる~~~!!!」 right now. ^_^

Great news! :D I'll definitely try this out right away.

(And yes, I agree with Asceai about that line. But I guess it's not a big problem, since this is also just a teaser patch so far.)

Excellent news. First al|together, and now this; it's like Christmas has come early! Thanks, everyone involved.

Couple of quick questions: this is labeled as a teaser patch. Does this means it's incomplete? Or does it just mean it's a bit rough, and there's still some bits to sorted?

Also, is there any news on Haeleth contacting Key for an authorised release?

Haeleth said he was going to do that after Narci2.

I'm sure others have wondered about this as well, but... who is GipFace32? Is this some unholy gattai between gp32 and GipFace?

Sounds like approximately the scariest thing to ever come within ten feet of a translation project.

I forget who, it was either Espr or RadicalR, but I asked about what the completion of it was at.

Apparently, none of the girls have their paths complete, but the main "trunk" is translated (is my understanding).

So in other words, the story is largely translated until you choose a heroine path, then it gets into the realm of the untranslated.

Espr also mentioned that the heroine path they were going to finish first would be Nayuki Minase's path.

wikipedia entry for Kanon

Other than that, the only other special detail I remember is that the "U" in "KU" stands for "Undivided".

<strike>Btw, if there are any errors or typos found (there are some, not many though), they can be reported in #ndt on ppirc (/server -m irc.shrinemaiden.org -j #ndt) or just message me and I'll pass them along.</strike>
Bugs or typos?

(Example: Date: Time: Ayu: "text blah blah blah error blah Ugyuu~~~~"

So, what's the drama status?

Let's see... Didn't they get 'permission' to use Haeleth's scripts? Doesn't that mean that Haeleth approves to some extent of his translation being used without approval from Key?

Didn't they also get the scripts up to 50 or so percent completion? Or was it something like 25%? either way, they had that for what, 1-2 years? And only now just finished the common routes? What's with that?
