Okay so everytime I open up the onscripter-en, it would open up and then after a few seconds just close and never start. Why does this happen? The programs I downloaded (that came in the zip folder)are:
arc.nsa GPL icon icon default guide readme onscripter-en nscript I created a subfolder and when I use that one, it won't work. What is wrong and what should i do? |

Er.. are you sure you've got the original Onikakushi there? It looks like you're just trying to run the patch.

If you're on Windows XP, the saves should be in either of these two folders, depending on which version you're playing.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Higurashi\ C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Higurashi-demo\ If you can't see the 'Application Data' folder, that's because it's a hidden folder. Enable 'Show hidden files and folders' in your Folder Options (Tools -> Folder Options... -> View). |

The Sonozaki Futago-tachi English patch for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onikakushi (Days 1-5,9) is now ready! Check out our RapidShare folder at http://rapidshare.com/users/MQK6IW.
You may download the translation patch for the full version of the game (aka Himatsubushi-hen) at http://rapidshare.com/files/94455305...kushi_Day9.zip Here's the translation patch for the demo version of Higurashi: http://rapidshare.com/files/94455799...kushi_Day9.zip If you experience problems with downloading from RapidShare, you can try our folder on MediaFire. To install a translation patch, simply unzip the contents into a subdirectory of the original Japanese game; double-click "onscripter-en.exe" to play. You can download the demo game here. The download mirror sites are at the bottom of the page; follow the directions for which mirrors to use. Anath put together a guide for buying Higurashi through one of the paid download sites; you can find it here. Let us know if you have trouble. On Windows, you'll need to have Japanese language support enabled to install Higurashi. The easiest way to do this is by using Microsoft AppLocale: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=17598 If you use Mac OS X or Linux, you can download the latest version of onscripter-en from the Onscripter-En website: http://dev.haeleth.net/onscripter.shtml. Mac users should be able to drop the onscripter-en.app file from the dmg image into the translation patch subdirectory, and double-click to play. ----- There's a new savegame fix (to end all fixes?) in this release, so don't be surprised if some of your older save games crash or load into a different place than where you saved; just resave at the appropriate point in this release. From now on, there shouldn't be problems with loading savegames you make using this release and any later ones. Please let us know what you think! Also let me know if you have problems installing or running a patch. Mion (Sonozaki Futagotachi) |

Just so you know, you'll be waiting until time ends. Because there are no Days 6, 7, or 8. It skips straight to 9.

Hi, sorry I'm having some trouble with the patch.
I recently bought the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni CD-ROM edition (Himatsubushi-hen). I installed the games to a portable flash drive. The Japanese installation works like a charm except obviously being entirely in Japanese. I then unzipped Onikakushi (Days 1-5,9) patch for the full version in to a subdirectory I arbitrarily labeled the unzipped folder "english" and launched ONScripter. The menus and sound worked fine. Oddly, the text is missing or is black on black background. For as long as I clicked (till I heard a train for a bit) it was black screen with only the click to advance icon appearing in white in where the text line "ended". I tried this twice. Here is a screenshot showing the Japanese and English windows side by side (taken separately, I did not run them at the same time.) ![]() Any one know what happened here?

Hmm. What version of Windows are you using?
I wonder if onscripter might be having trouble with the flash drive access delay. Are you able to copy the higurashi game folder to your hard drive? If you can, see if you can run the onscripter-en.exe from the higurashi/english directory there. Mion (Sonozaki Futagotachi) |

My hard drive is nearing critical mass so I was hoping a flash drive installation would work. ^^; I'll clear out some stuff (move Air to flash drive >.>) then try higurashi from the HDD. Will post back once I do this.
