I've been trying to extract the art assets from Code Geass Lost Colors, and after extracting from root.cvm (it's a PSP game), I get a bunch of .P files that I'm sure are images.
I just can't open them, I ran them through bitmaprip but nothing. I know that some people have extracted them (there are cg packs floating around), anyone know how? Thanks. |

Thank you very much. Could you please provide some instructions on how to use this? Does it work directly on .P files or on the .cvm files? Would it work on both the PS2 versions or just the PSP version?
I dragged a .P file (BG_F07F.P) onto the kallen.exe in the root of the extract after downloading from the only link on that page. It gave me a .bin file (BG_F07F.bin) which I still can't open. Well it's probably not the correct way to use the app. Some instructions would be awesome, thanks! |

Having access to none of the two games I can't really tell.
It seems this tool can only support specific filetypes extracted from .p archives. I should have one of the following header signatures to be matched: * "..PS2" (*.ps2) * "FONTDATF" (*.fdt) * "TIM2" (*.tm2) * "FGB" (*.gdb) * "FONTSTLB" (*.fst) If the output extension is .bin, it simply means none of those were recognized. It may be a format specific to PSP, could you attach a sample .bin? |

Thank you very much.
I tried dragging 4 "types" of .P files onto kallen.exe. 3 of them I just got a .bin as result. One of them, CH_BU_VIL08.P I got a CH_BU_VIL08.bin and CH_BU_VIL08.fgb. Anyway here are a few sample bins and .P files. http://www.mediafire.com/?yzdvjzzwkzq It's too big (800kb) for the attachment. |

Charuru, sorry for the late reply, I didn't spot it beforehand.
Those bin files are .gim files, which is a common format on the PS2/PSP. If you have a look at that topic, there is a subfolder in the archive called "GIMSTUFF". * First, extract the tenoritool archive * Second, rename all files you think are graphics to xyz.gim. You can use a tool such as Lupus rename or flexible renamer, both freeware. * copy the GIMSTUFF contents to the folder with the gims * edit either batch to fix path to the gims folder, and save * double-click the batch you just edited * ???? * profit |

It works for character sprites, and selected screen such as name selection or end game screen, but it doesn't work for backgrounds. One of the other tools I tried reports "DXT1 Not Imple ..." for those files.

WESTSIDE's CODEGEAS.LZH converter included in Otanoshimi CD 74 and CD 77 works with the PS2 (and only PS2) version.
