PC-98 games hacking/translation resources?

Sort of an odd question and I don't know whether it belongs here really, but has there been any resources on hacking PC-98 games (for the purpose of translation)?

I know that translations are apparently feasible, because I remember seeing a few of them floating around. On the off chance that one of those people who made them actually sees this message, is the process of translating a PC-98 game extra convulted... or the same as anything else?

Wouldn't have a clue as to how it's actually done, though.
