I saw this on Yes Asia:

http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-j/section-games/pid-1004107275/

US$170!

Can someone tell me what special bonusy omakey specialy stuff comes with it to justify the huge price difference from the regular edition?

A whole bunch of things (including puppets (!) and the music CD for the ending theme), depending on when it was ordered, where it was ordered from, and which pack it came with. I don't think any of the combinations justifies the kind of price on that link, though.

This is the same thing, right?

I think it must be.
It's puzzling why the price is so high on Yes Asia when it's not even out of stock on Amazon yet.

I have no idea, I'm just glad I won't have to pay so much money should I want a copy.

The CD's a pre-order bonus, and the puppets come with the limited edition Pakupaku Pack.

"This item qualifies for free worldwide shipping" = "We stuck the shipping into the price har har suckers."

The Pakupaku Pack's about US$120 (12000 yen), and shipping would probably cost more thanks to the puppets, so US$170 doesn't seem so bad.

I've already ordered mine for US$140, though.

12,000 yen is actually just a little over US$100 at the moment.
I just can't imagine them charging an extra $70 for shipping an 800g package...

Did anyone play PC version of the game, how was it? I see it's the highest rated minori game on erogescape.

It's a work of art.

Edit:

12,000 yen is actually just a little over US$100 at the moment.
I just can't imagine them charging an extra $70 for shipping an 800g package...

And I guess that explains why the store I ordered it from had it at US$120 before shipping.

And hey, profits.

I asked Rinkya to get it from Amazon for me ^_^;

I hadn't even considered buying Haru no Ashioto until they flashed the word "limited edition" in front of my face, at which point my otaku circuits overloaded.

Are those puppets the same ones that minori used on their site for their april's fools thing? If so, those look awesome!

Yeah, they must be.

Between Haru no Ashioto, Planetarian, CLANNAD, ONE, Lamune, Wind, and probably Scarlett I'm going to be getting mighty sick of 日本語 pretty quickly... ^_^; Why did they all have to end up so bunched togther for me >_<

They are.

You can find photos (http://www.alchemist-net.co.jp/products/haruoto/img/packpackpack2.jpg) on the official site.

I've never seen a game sold overseas for the same price I could have gotten it in Japan. I'm not even talking about the el cheapo prices they have at comiket either.
Compared to downtown Akiba or even Denkodo you're gonna pay a stupid amount more.

Luckly, I have a friend still there to pick up stuff if/when I need it.

If you're still not sure about getting the Pakupaku Pack, here're pictures of the box and puppets. :<>

Book for scale. The puppets're bigger than I thought they'd be.

I wonder how long it'll take some crazy otaku to make a full length live action movie of that a la Minori's April Fools.

I was thinking of doing a webcomic or something with them. <<

Great idea! It would be like 8-bit theater, but live action!

If you're ever in the neighbourhood and have a camera; give me a yell.

Nice choice of Suzumiya Haruhi as a size comparison. Clearly an individual with exceptional refinement and taste.

Well, I've been busy lately, so I've been going through Haruoto PS2 pretty slowly.

Currently on chapter four of Yuduki's route. Changes so far:

-No naughty bits (not just the adult scenes; no panchira either)
-New event in chapter four! (I hadn't heard about more stuff being added, that kind of surprised me)

Did anyone have the foresight to download Minori's trailer for their Haru no Ashioto: The movie April fools joke?

Alas, I clearly did not, and now they've taken it down...

I did, but I've no idea what I did with the file.

You're not missing out on much, though.

It's a hard Tsu, so has a sort of Dzu sound.

Hearing dumbarse gaijin pronounce words containing it like an actual English "D" makes me cry.

Youdooky? Win.

Carl
2006-07-09, 01:52
"Win" wouldn't have been my choice of adjective...

Youdooky, Youzooky, or Yood-zucky.

Take your pick.

inuyasha9854

Can't (necessarily) be Youzooky - considering "zoo" = zu (ず) is the voiced "sue" = su (す) - Therefore, the likelihood of づ being "zoo" is slim.

There is no phonemic distinction between づ and ず in modern standard Japanese. However, I haven't a clue what "Youzooky" is supposed to represent -- I can think of about ten different ways of pronouncing it. Less ambiguously, the name is pronounced [yMzMki].

There's no "take your pick" about it in standard Japanese, though some dialects preserve the affricate option.
