Indeed, indeed. Merry Christmas! :)

And as gp32 pointed out in the other thread, a Happy Planeterian released again! (Hey, it's an official holiday)

Why do I get a mental image of myself sitting outside getting covered in snow while waiting for someone to show up?

Oh, happy holidays everyone!

Why do I get a mental image of myself sitting outside getting covered in snow while waiting for someone to show up?

Look, I get an image of a girl running through the halls towards me with a sword. You have it easy.

Well, Merry Christmas all of you. You know you're a Kanon fan when one of your friends is getting you a set of Kanon gashapon figures and another is getting you a Kanon trading card pack.

Hope you guys have great holidays. People who play Kanon deserve great holidays... let's hope Santa knows that.

I hope I got this correct ^^;

メリークリスマス、みんあさん!そちわ新年おっめでと!

We can all wish for Girls waiting for us in the snow come January. Be patient!

I hope I got this correct ^^;
Comprehensible, if not quite textbook Japanese. :p

My Christmas message is finally up on the front page, but I'll repeat it here: thank you all for your support, have a great Christmas (replace with Chanukkah or other culturally-appropriate holiday as desired), and please don't bug me about the downloads being down because it's out of my hands. :p

Well, just in the spirit of assisting (not meaning to harp):

メリークリスマス、みんあさん!そちわ新年おっめでと!

Merry Christmas is fine... Japanese might typically be doing it in a slightly alternate spelling like holding the me but its comprehensible. "Minasan" should be "Minnasan" i.e. みんなさん. If your wa is intended as a particle it should be は, otherwise it's fine. Ometedou is おめでとう.

Again, just trying to be of assistance, not a cherry picker :).

Merry Christmas Day everyone.

"Minasan" should be "Minnasan" i.e. みんなさん.
You're quite right that "min'asan" is incorrect, but "minnasan" (what Nephillim typed, though not what his IME produced) is also not quite right; the usual form is "minasan" (i.e. みなさん).

This message brought to you by the National Nitpickers' Society.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

I've never seen it accepted as "mina" in spelling terms because of the held n. But whether correct or not, no reason to argue :).

Not to drag the topic out for any longer, but just to clarify:
みんな appears to be the standard spelling except when appended with さん, in which case みなさん is correct.

A little exercise in google to demonstrate my point =P

みなさん: 4,680,000 hits
みんな: 4,330,000 hits
みんなさん: 12,500 hits

Haeleth

みなさん: 4,680,000 hits
みんな: 4,330,000 hits
みんなさん: 12,500 hits
皆さん: 7,210,000 hits.

Which is why kanji are so great, you don't have to worry about the reading. ;)

In any case, hope everyone got what they were wishing for.

You know... I never thought someone outside of Haeleth would actually use the kanji for ございます. ^^;

At least, I'm assuming that was a compliment. 様 is ambiguous that way... ;)
