[Edit] We are still recruiting! We are currently left with Saori, Manami and Kirino's IF Route to complete!

Work on Disc 2 will not begin until all content in disc 1 is completed.

The Kuroneko Partial Patch is now released!

http://notcliche.com/ziddy/kuroneko-route-patch/

-----------

This might be unorthodox, but my group is doing recorded gameplay translations, currently handling the chinese-english translation of Oreimo PSP.

To check out our work in progress, you can go to http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8328C7B1B34433DA. This should explain what we're trying to do.

However, I am recruiting for the patch effort and not for the youtube project.

My group staff roster can be found at http://notcliche.com/ziddy/about-us/

I'm looking for the following position to be filled to help out for the patch.

- JP-EN Translator/Translation Checker - Check on the existing translations and fix lines that have blanks for the existing scripts, in order for the patch to go smoothly. Knowledge on Oreimo is recommended!

Any other help is appreciated, such as translation for Haganai PSP.

To those who are interested and/or if you would like more information, please contact me at either of the following places.

- Private Message me at youtube.
- #rinjinbu @ irc.rizon.net (http://notcliche.com/ziddy/web-irc/)

- Or simply just reply here!

This might be unorthodox, but my group is doing recorded gameplay translations, currently handling the chinese-english translation of Oreimo PSP, with plans to expand to other games such as Haganai PSP or Papakiki PSP, be it japanese or chinese.

To check out our work in progress, you can go to http://www.youtube.com/user/zidanechoo2. This should explain what we're trying to do.

My group currently consists of myself (recorder, timer, editor), Valena (CN-EN translator) and BenAptus (editor).

I'm looking for JP-EN/CN-EN Translators/Translation Checkers at the moment, although any other help is appreciated. To those who are interested and/or if you would like more information, please contact me at either of the following places.

We are aware of the tlwiki team's work. There's a couple of reasons why we aren't assisting tlwiki directly at this point in time.

1. One of the Staff from tlwiki contacted us once before, but after finding out we were using the Chinese fan translated patch as a base, he gave us his blessings and did not mention anything about helping them out. I would assume this might affect their translation, as mentioned in the following post.

Edit: Yep, they're translating from the Chinese fan translation with some exceptions while editing.

I will attempt to contact them, though the translation style from what I've seen would be annoying for me to edit to the same style as our current translations. Other than that, there is the problem I am concerned about. If those translations are from the chinese fan translation, then the translation will be a problem. Basically, From Japanese>Chinese>English, meanings or literal translations and other technical issues tend to happen, and would not be accurate enough as it has gone through different languages. I feel that this would affect our translation quality. We'll see how it goes.

2. As mentioned, this group will not focus solely on OreimoPSP, as there are plans to go onto other games.

3. We do have plans to provide our translations to them once we have ensured they are in the highest quality/accuracy possible. Whether the tlwiki team chooses to accept it or not, it's their choice and I'll respect their decision regardless of the outcome. However, they have been inactive for a while so that might make the eventual handover an issue.

Not the best reception here because people here are involved with traditional fan translation. I'll jot you down in this thread: http://forums.fuwanovel.com/index.php?/topic/113-using-youtube-as-a-main-vehicle-for-serving-visual-novels/

btw metaeraser4 is doing the same thing on his/her youtube channel.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFq25meiUss
s/he is still progressing in this.

also btw I like your idea a lot. I hope to see more efforts like these launched in the near future and I will probably link to your youtube clips on my site too as well as feed them into the news. I can't read simplified chinese, I can understand some traditional chinese. just wondering if the JP-EN translator is necessary if like you say, that Haganai and PapaKiki will get chinese fansubbed? I've played Oreimo before, the language is pretty straight forward and there is a voice track to keep things in context...

yes the Oreimo project at TLWiki is dead.

I do support this effort! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your support! We have been doing this little youtube project for a year or so now and looking back, we should've done this recruiting process sooner to expose our work and get help in the process as well.

To respond to your questions, I know of another person doing a similar youtube translation, but in this case his group is tackling idolmaster 2 @ http://www.youtube.com/user/765subs.

As for the necessary JP-EN, there have been many instances where the Chinese patch has taken liberties with the text and as a result, we have to use the Japanese text as base. Relying solely on Rikaichan, outsourced JP-EN translators and machine translations can only get us so far, that's why we want our own translator.

With regards to whether Haganai/Papakiki will get a Chinese translated patch, we have no idea. Taking Idolmaster for example, the psp/ds versions has been out for some time and nobody has translated those yet. As a result, it would be better to cover both bases in the event the patches don't come out.

I'd be interested in doing the JP-EN stuff, but in return I'd like to have someone subtitle and post some VN videos I've been doing. Basically I have a guy recording a PS2 VN that has never been translated and I've been translating it, but neither of us can subtitle and we need someone who can do that and upload the videos to Youtube. If you guys would do that for me (I have the translation and a few of the videos already prepared) then I'd be happy to TL for you on any of your projects.

I'd like to check whether it's possible to insert your translation into the game itself. I can help with subbing too, read the PM for details.

I'd just like to mention that we have two new Staff members. We are still currently looking for an Editor and JP-EN TLC, but feel free to join up with us even if your role has been taken already. We can always negotiate.
