How does Blade compare to Ren'Py?
A basic feature comparison was made by Blue Lemma (http://www.lemmasoft.net/renai_dev/comparison.htm), but I have no idea if the Blade engine has evolved since then. I'd be interested in seeing a general update to that page, actually. Several new engines have emerged since then.

Isn't it slightly weird to offer a tool to help you make games... if you make a game? If you've already got products to register, why would you need their engine?

(Well, I suppose you could submit a comic or something. Me, I already make my own games and have no use for the Blade Engine.)

There's also a free version of Blade Engine, which I suppose you could use, but what they're offering here is the Pro version.

Try both. Then come back to us.

Try both. Then come back to us.

Blade is Windows only and working in windows is irritating therefore very impractical for me unless it poses a major advantage (such as...well...nothing I can think of) I was just curious but until a mac version comes out I am sticking with Ren'Py (which all and all works pretty well) :)

It's limited by a number of factors really. I do not think they have reached the capabilities that Ren'Py or NScriptor has reached since that review.
