of course I'm always willing to help in format hacking anything visual-novel-related if you throw me files.

Planetarian_demo_HIK_samples.zip (http://www.tsukuru.info/tlwiki/index.php?title=Image:Planetarian_demo_HIK_samples.zip)

which is the starting animation in the planetarian demo. It renders as a left-to-right side scroll of a partial view of BG26O_00.g00 with 2 elements with a higher z-order.

Use vaconv from RLdev (http://dev.haeleth.net/rldev.shtml) to convert g00 to 32-bit pngs.

Note that g00 file names referenced in .hik files are case-insensitive.

Would you mind taking a look? If need be, the demo is available at <http://visualnews.net/demo-downloads/#planet>

Ooh, this'll give me an excuse to try out Planetarian. I'll peeky peeky.

That said, I've got an assignment due in a couple of days, so I may not be able to get to it immediately, but I'll look.

EDIT: You forgot one .g00, but it's in the trial version anyway, so there's no need to attach it.

EDIT 2: Also, thanks for the unintentional link to that wiki, too! I didn't know here was a collaborative Sharin demo translation underway. Awesome. Dibs on Sachi's two H scenes! (j/k)

EDIT 3: Apart from the file names, each 'frame' seems to be of fixed size. There's a heap of numbers here that could do pretty much anything (nice clean numbers, though, lots of 100s, 1000s and 10000s), but it seems I can play around with the .hik file and test it in Planetarian without negative consequences, so I guess that's how I'll be figuring this out.

Here's another sample, from polyphonica.
It's missing the last frame, though. I suppose you could make a random copy of a .g00 and use it instead. It works if you rename the hik to the one in planetarian demo~
